And Britain gave him £500 to leave without a fuss ( do Golders challenging the ruling?).  I hope he was arrested and jailed on arrival. The world really has gone mad. I would make the civil servant that handed out £500 of your taxpayers money pay it back out of their pay.

 ;D Sadly could be true!

Mrs Varche’s plan envisions the deviants being minced up and fed , presumably as burgers, to other first strike deviants. Solving overcrowding, offending and food shortages etc at one go. There soon would not be many deviants.  ;D The world would be praying that it was run by The Boy!

It is absolutely inevitable. 99% of the population will be monitored/ controlled by 1%.

Healthcare, daily food, work monitoring, taxation, punishment for deviation.

I don't think we can complain about the weather we've had this year. It's grey and damp now, but what a summer we had. Imagine living in constant sunshine at around 30° all the time. No thanks.

;D ;D You adapt. It is the light for me. Sublime. Could never go back to living in Tupperware.

Fair point STEMO. Problem is I have gone through life as a hoarder. Stuff does come in if you do virtually everything. Having said that, I cannot ever see the day when I say if only I had some Omega wheels and tyres! I think I will put them on EBay cheap. At least they might live on for a while.

I watched a you tube video last night of an American taking his scrap alloy to the recycler. First he removed balance weights and valve. He got something like a paltry 7 dollars. The next video showed him dismantling a scrap car radiator and separating brass parts etc. weighed in , he got 2 dollars 27.   ;D

Yes no bonfires till November and even then…… only had half an inch of rain since mid May. Otherwise good idea.

I ‘ m having a big clearout.

Found a local metal processor. Amazingly it is just a lock up with a weigh bridge in the floor. At the back is machine with a grab. Someone had just dropped about half a ton of assorted metal. Presumably they have a truck which they take regularly to a large processing plant.

Anyway I have 7 alloys, six of which have tyres. I think the going rate is a tenner a wheel. However they won’t take them with tyres on!  If I take them to a garage by the time I have paid for removal and recycling there will be no margin!

Anyone got experience of weighing in alloys?

I might be better listing them on Spanish eBay. The Six are Omega Elite mini facelift. I don’t think they were ever sold here so might be undesirable even though they are homologated.

General Car Chat / Re: So what have you done to your car today?
« on: 19 October 2025, 21:06:09 »
I remember the first car I saw without a spare was a BMW. At the time I read BMW research that you only got one puncture every 93,000 miles. I’ve lost count of how many we have had but included mandatory recovery works really well here. Most times the tyres weren’t repairable.

Mrs V’s solution. Second strike. Mince them up and feed them to humans. Reduces pressure on space, food production and prisons. Good idea but needs some work. For example do you make burgers and feed them to first strikes?

Saw a new car at a dealers today with a single wavy scratch along the whole side of the vehicle. Heston Blumental could serve them up as tapas at a political party event. ( any political party)

That is shocking!

A scam here in Spain is buying accident damaged cars from other EU countries , repairing and then getting a Spanish log book and selling them. No history and they look the bees knees on the forecourt or in Lidl car park

Spot on.

You either have a well executed scheme that is mandatory OR use the money saved on the authorities doing their job and swooping on businesses and dealing with the illegals and employer. OOF could supply the target business addresses. Or set up a snitch line.

I can imagine... Nearly got a migraine just thinking about it  ;D
If only we were part of........... ;D

Too late! Maybe when Reform get in.  ;D

Or it could be that reform turn out To be just as bad as the others?

I bet right now there are people who voted Trump thinking things aren’t going well just as there would be Biden voters who thought the same. They are all the same. Promise the earth and deliver beggar all ( but manage to get rich from it with books, after dinner speeches etc.)
