Trump today

“ Russia wants to see Ukraine succeed”.

He is wasted on the world stage. A gulag would be better along with dissident billionaires.

That is it.
With all this stuff you can of course turn it off but it is every time you start the car.

You do have to have your wits about you for what I call spurious speed reductions. Eg driving at 70 and suddenly it reduces to 50 for no obvious reason.

One thing that I do think is clever is in Spain we have a lower limit on motorways for bad weather eg rain. The two limits show on your dash with the correct one more prominent. If it rains and you use your wipers, then it reverses and puts the lower limit prominent.

All sort of clever stuff but sucks the joy out of motoring as johnnydog and Andy say.

General question.

Where does predictive cruise obtain what it thinks is the prevailing speed limit? It isn’t from sat nav as not a paid for option. ( unless it is still there but invisible?)

Mostly it is correct but sometimes has spurious figure. I also note differences  sometimes between car and maps ( both google and Apple)

Think you are right STEMO . Diesel fairly simple.

What were the engineers thinking with a “ wet belt”!

Merry Christmas to all OOF’ers from a bitingly cold Henley in Arden. We have had power cuts and snow back home so “ going away” was a good idea!

I’m in the midlands at moment. Just had a pleasant drive around a housing estate looking at peoples lights.

What is the delivery tech?  Ie from your property to the exchange. I thought there was no fibre in your area?

Hmm I bought a scrap A35 in the early seventies to transplant the four speed and ‘powerful’ engine into a Morris a thousand which was equipped with three speed and 803cc of roaring hell. It was sort of a success but so much power you could get the tail out around roundabouts on skinny cross plies!
It didn’t last long as the new found power showed up serious flaws in the rotted chassis that were hidden by pieces of duck hams oil can gobbered in place with underseal. Massive negative camber on one side was not a good look.

Not my finest moment, the rolling shell with no brakes engine etc had to go.couldnt tow it to a nearby village tip as mostly downhill. A mate offered to follow and nudge it as necessary the 2.5 miles to the tip. I had a six foot fence post as a sort of emergency anchor to throw into the transmission gear lever hole. I did meet someone without incident and the gate to the tip was fortunately open and there was a fridge to ram to slow me down.

The dentist, trying to have a conversation whilst I had a mouthful of metal , did she really expect an answer she could understand ?  Smashing bit of stuff though & she certainly had a thing about my tattoos.

Did you have them done while you were in prison? ;D

Services after Metz in France.

It costs one euro to go through the barrier to use the toilets including urinals. That is a first. Not only is the fuel sky high but a penny is now a euro!
