General Car Chat / James is the Man
« on: 08 February 2013, 17:44:45 »
Would like to thank James fellow OOF'er on coming down to service my Omega today in Devon. What a lovely feeling to have someone do something they are truly enthusiastic about. First time it has ever run properly. OOF members have been very helpful with their advice and know how.

Can any OOF members recommend someone to service/look after my Omega Sport 2.2 near Taunton either with premises or mobile? Would really appreciate an enthusiast. Fed up with poor service from local garage. Will travel if necessary. Time to suit.

Omega General Help / Seized Passenger door
« on: 04 January 2013, 11:10:16 »
Happy new year to you all.  Any advice welcomed to help open my front passenger door. The handles seem to work but the catch isn't releasing. I can't see how you can get to the lock from the inside without destroying the interior panel as fixings all appear hidden. Bet someone knows the answer.  Many thanks Ant

Thank you for your input. That is what I would have thought would be the case,  possibly serviced by Bodgit and Scarperd previously!

Just changed spark plugs on 2.2 petrol. Noticed one rubber sleeve is a different diameter to the others and has a removeable insert to make it the right fit for plug. Second cylinder from front looking backwards.  Is this meant to be this way?

Omega General Help / Spanner Symbol and no power
« on: 05 April 2012, 09:37:04 »
Looking for advice from forum experts on intermittent problem with 2.2 petrol omega.  Yesterday when starting spanner symbol came on and when pressing accelerator no power or revs.  Switced off repeated - same result. Repeated light out and perfect.  Recently bought car had been standing for over year and had to replace lamda and Maf sensors.  Car also very varied in fuel consumption.  Any ideas guys?  Great forum.

Omega General Help / Automatic breather or vacuum pipe?
« on: 10 March 2012, 10:29:16 »
Hello all

From a new member.  I bought an Omega 2.2 sport automatic last week 2003 plate and think it is a wonderful car. However I noticed a rubber pipe going down towards the gearbox that was not connected on the engine end.  Does anyone know what it is meant to do or where it connects to?  Also be interested to know members real world experience of petrol consulmption.  Would also like to know if anyone has made an lpg conversion and with what results.
Look forward to hearing from you!

Oupa
