General Car Chat / Powersounder removed just in time
« on: 04 June 2012, 14:02:24 »
Just removed my Powersounder after some helpful advice off a fellow member. The batteries had just started leaking :s never knew these could cause the car to go up in smoke. Lucky escape I think :) Fitted my irmscher backbox today too, along with oil and filter, and now going to fit the electric dipping mirror and clean the sunroof switch. Productive day I think :)

Old ppl bug me. They just stop randomly, and they always have budget cars :s oh and ppl who do 40 in a 60 NO NEED, it's 60mph!!! And people who use the 3rd lane on a motorway and sit exactly at 70. Grrrrrrrr

As you turn it on press AS and the on button together holding AS down. Then it let's you enter the code. Although mine would only do it with ignition on

If we could get into more shows it would be excellent, the performance vauxhall show and VBOA aren't all about fast cars and boy racers. They all have a good range of vauxhalls from over the years. I was shocked when I had my vectra vxr to only see another 2 at the show. Now driving my far slower but much comfier omega 2.5 v6, I'm no flashy vxr but I'd love to show it, and my only mod so far is an irmscher grille and rear tints. Oh and lots of wax ;) almost 26 now so let's show these people omegas aren't just for the golden oldies :)

General Car Chat / Re: Why an Omega??
« on: 20 May 2012, 08:01:50 »
Well I'm 2-3 months into omega driving and for the money you cannot beat it. Comfort and quietness are excellent as is power( i have a 2.5 v6) and don't find fuel too bad either. The boot fits a double buggy without folding seats, both child seats fit in the back with ease. Only downside is the 1 cup holder but think I can live with that :)

General Discussion Area / Thanks Elite Pete :)
« on: 14 May 2012, 08:01:24 »
Would just like to say a big thanks to elite pete who called over yesterday to change my 2.5v6 Cambelt. Glad I chose him over a garage as he's very thorough and ensured everything was as it should be, and was probably cheaper too :) also got me thinking about fitting 3 litre cams now too :s .... So if you need anything doing to your omega he's defo worth contacting first before any garage :)

Sort the rust out on the omega and get it looking top dollar again, refurb the wheels if needed too. This will be done at a fraction of the cost of changing cars, plus the vectra or Alfa won't give you the amount of ride comfort and quietness the omega does. :)

Omega General Help / Re: X20XEV main oil seal
« on: 04 May 2012, 07:23:04 »
Highly recommend buypartsby.co.uk. Just got my Cambelt kit and waterpump from them. Extremely helpful and friendly. Plus for contitech timing kit, OE water pump and aux belt, with next day delivery was about £120. Cannot complain at that :)
