Omega General Help / crank pulley 2.2Dti
« on: 01 November 2012, 13:58:16 »
I'm in the middle of replacing my crank pulley, just need to know how tight it needs to be.  Read somewhere it needs to 150nm but this seemed a bit high and very difficult to achieve, anyone know if thats the correct torque setting?  Cheers

It comes on on the overun, but only if i've been coasting a few hundred yards or more. The engine does sometimes judder when i'm hovering around the 1500rpm mark where the turbo kicks in. It's as if the turbo can't make it's mind up what to do.

I have a 2002 2.2Dti and my turbo seems a bit off. When i accelerate, the turbo kicks in and i get the extra power you would expect but then it dies for a second before returning?? Once the initial boost and loss has gone i get a smooth power boost through the rev range, it's as though the turbo has 2 phases.

Omega General Help / brake pipes
« on: 31 May 2012, 18:34:21 »
my '02 CD has just failed it's MOT due to corroded brake pipes in 3 areas. Is it an easy job to replace the pipes myself or is this a job for a pro?

Omega General Help / Re: loss of power when warm

Cheers. Crank sensor was my best guess, just wasn't sure with it being intermittent but it sounds like i'll need a new one from you've all said. Are they easy to replace?

Omega General Help / loss of power when warm
« on: 27 March 2012, 15:10:17 »
Hi all, got a problem with my 02 Omega 2.2dti and can't find an answer anywhere. On start up, it's fine but once the engine warms up my rev counter dies, engine management light comes and i lose loads of power, (limp mode?). The idle is errattic but it will rev upto the redline in neutral no problem and i can hear the turbo spinning. If i pull up to let the engine cool it's fine again but only for a few miles. No smoke from the exhaust and all fluid levels are fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
