Omega General Help / Re: battery/charge light staying on
« on: 07 November 2012, 18:46:48 »
Thanks guys for the replies so far but both alternators are showing the same problem ( dash light on ) but doing a bit of running round the web the majority of parts sites seem to list the 140 amp alternator as the original type, but the 120 amp one is the one that iv'e taken off, at the time of removal it was showing about 13.3-5 volts with nothing running but dropped to about 12-12.3v under load slowly coming back to about 13ish volts, all measurements are taken at battery terminals. So my next questions are
1,what is the proper alternator 140 or 120 amp
2,Is the regulator seperate to alternator
3,could it be relay a problem?
NB. 140 amp alternator from 03 vectra
links Iv'e tried

This relay came up during my searches (you have to read the header to the part to see why iv'e included this link!)
