Omega Electrical and Audio Help / USB Port Fitment??
« on: 05 March 2013, 17:03:55 »
Can a USB port be wired in to allow an IPod to run through the audio system?  Its a standard system, not Bose.

The central locking seems to have self healed today, with no re-occurrance of yesterday's problem ???

By the way, it was our first frosty morning of winter here yesterday morning, so I opened the door no problems to turn the motor on.   Switching off after 5 minutes and relocking was no problem, but 30 minutes later, door would not open on remote.

Trawling through old posts suggest a sluggish locking motor due to the cold, but it still refused to work all day >:(

My 1997 Elite has just been similarly affected.  The drivers door opened and locked as usual on the remote yesterday morning, and hey presto, 30 minutes later I tried again and the door would not open on the remote, even though the locking snib inside raises and lowers on the remote.  Opening the rear door and pushing down the snib and then pulling it up, and the drivers door will open on the handle from the outside.

Any thoughts chaps ???

Omega General Help / Re: Poxy Warning Light

After a good thrashing, the light has extinguished itself 8)  I've also filled the tank with BP Ultimate (after the disappearance of the light).

Drove 200 miles today and the light has stayed off :)

Omega General Help / Re: 3.0 Auto Vs 3.2 Auto
« on: 07 September 2012, 11:09:07 »
We also have a 3.0 Elite Auto and MV6 3.2 Auto.  The MV6 is definately smarter off the mark and more responsive everywhere to the extend that when my wife drives the 3.0 Elite, she askes me 'where's the engine'  ::).  Steering and handling is more sports saloon on the MV6, luxury limo in the Elite.  In fact, MV6 is a completely different driving experience as far as we are concerned.  I'm impressed with both cars.  Pre-facelift is much better looking of course  :y

Omega General Help / Re: Failing pre cats.

Yes, as he says, it was mine, 5mm to take off the cat to block flange, drill and weld in the other lambda, job done.

And has your car been trouble free since the swap?

So how long will the failing cats go on for before they need to be replaced?

Do the pedal trick test... See maintenance guide on forum...

Don't be surprised if you get code 0420 or 0430.  :y

Did it and got 10 flashes followed by 4 flashes, 3 flashes and 10 flashes - end.  What does that mean?

Omega General Help / Poxy Warning Light
« on: 06 September 2012, 14:14:45 »
Our Omega MV6 3.2 is running perfectly, but the engine warning light (emissions) decided to come on yesterday, out of the blue.  Car still runs perfectly so what can it be?

Any suggestions greatfully received :y
