Omega General Help / Re: MAF Kh/g Readings

Finally got it sorted :D! Changed the MAF and an instant difference, it was smoother and wanted to pull better and improved gear change. It was still being twitchy to start after an hour or so. I purchased a new exhaust manifold (suspected the manifold I could here a blowing from cold) everything fitted today and for the first time since October she finally drive's really well. Thanks everyone for your guidance and help, much appreciated :y

It would explain its lousy fuel economy and stuttering especially 3000 -4500 rpm. You have to floor it up the slightest slope otherwise people walk past. :'(

Yep it stays in open loop all the while and the fuel trim is 0.  :(

Work done to date:

Plugs

coil pack

oil/filter/air filter

Throttle body clean and breathers cleaned (no leaks)

new lambda on the pre-cat

Runs better with MAF disconnected.

Any ideas?

Right, I checked the ECU water temp today and it read the same as the temp gauge so I would assume its not the ECT sensor giving wrong readings. Runs about 75-80 unless in traffic. Any thoughts?

Hi Kevin, the engine takes a mile or to get warm its normally around 75-80. The heater warms up very quick (which is a blessing at the moment). It runs better with the MAF disconnected but far from perfect. What are your thoughts?

Yep both sensors stay on lean even when blipping the throttle. (replaced the pre cat sensor in November last year.)  The fuel trim comes up as 0. I am worried its the cat.

Ok as per request the MAF readings:

Tick Over Warm: 9-10

Blip throttle light: 47

Heavy Blip: 79

at 2000: 26

at 3000: 69

15c Air Intake

o2's permanently lean

So what does this suggest?

Hi Cem, thanks for that.......anyone live around Chesterfied with a 2.2 that would be willing to swap just to see? I don't want to spend on a new one unless I have to :-[. It certainly drives alot better with it disconnected. I will get the KG/H reading tomorrow. :)

Hi All,

Had the car hooked up today before a run up to Stockport. These are the readings with the MAF disconnected after a trip to Matlock:

B1S1 sonsor bank 1 /274 mv

B1S1 air/fuel bank 1 sensor 1 lean

B1S2 02 sensor bank 1 sensor active

B1S2 02 sensor bank 1 sensor 2 196@idle

B1S2 air/fuel R B1S2 lean

B1 short term fuel trim 0 bank 1

intake air temp 30c

The 02 sensors remain on lean even when you push the rev's up.

Reconnected MAF and went to Stockport. A true pig. Up a slight hill it was foot to the floor other wise flat spots and hesitation. Drove like a real pig. Could not get more than 80mph and that was a serious struggle.

Emission light came on.

P0130 sensor open circuit not present. I don't know if this is the first or last Lambda but I have replaced the first one. Anyway disconnected MAF and drove to Buxton. Spanner light came straight on but drove alot better.

P0110 intake air temp -40 !!!!! high input present.

p0100 mass or volume air flow circuit low input present

P1700 SVS request via CAN present

Cleared codes but still get

P0110 MAF

TRANSMISSION

P1781 unkown not present

B3435 (0) L/H servomotor term 2/or term 4 not present.

Any enlightenment would be very much appreciated. Is it the MAF? or the Lambda sensor or both? It spoils an other wise nice car thats in very good condition for 11 years old.
