EDIT, should add, whereabouts are you located? Might be someone local with a code reader who can assist.

I am located near Reading if anyone is nearby?

Vac pipes cheap as chips, I found a set on a scrap car, they've been using them for years on various Vauxhalls, so if you want to buy new, go for it. I also replaced the vac tubes/hoses while I was at it. The good Mr Red Baron has some bits.

Power issues on this engine are usually gummed up inlets (around swirl and boost sensors), poorly performing vacuums, or the well known VP44 problems.

What were the codes, as they do provide some clues...

Unfortunatly I do not have the codes currently as I last had them read a few months ago, are there any Vacuum pipes that are specificly vunerable to collapsing as the code indicated an issue with vacuum pipes when I had them read (In fact two leaks were found and fixed but to sadly no avail)

Also the VP44 issue, could you give a bit more insight into this as most of my Googling is bringing back none English sites. I Assume that we are talking about the Bosch fuel pump? Would this give the limp mode issues, or just a drop in performance as I am not 100% convinced that this is an issue or all in my head......

Hi there,
 
I hope that you will be able to help with an issue that I am having with my Omega 2.2DTH which sadly is ruining the driving fun of this car.
 
The issue first started to appear about 18 months ago, when as I was driving down the motorway the engine warning light came on, and the car drastically lost power (Limp mode I believe it is known as). I discovered that pulling into the hard shoulder taking the key out, and putting it back in again would bring the car back to life. This issue occurred twice more on this journey. The next week I took the car into to have the error codes read with the error code implying that that there was a split/damaged vacuum pipe. On investigation they found a damaged vacuum pipe, replaced it, and off I went on my merry ways.
 
Sadly this was not the end....
 
Most of my driving is around town, so the I had no issues with the car until my next longish motorway drive where it did exactly the same again. Once more the codes were read with the same message being displayed (I am sorry that I cannot remember what it was). This time it was suggested that a dying/mucky ERG valve could be potentially causing the issue as well (Not cheap to replace I believe). However on cleaning the valve out, whilst being mucky, it was not as bad as others I have cleaned out on previous Omega DTH's which had no issues.
 
Sadly again this did not fix the issue....
 
The issue is now a regular occurrence during motorway driving if I am not carful with my driving. i.e. Putting stress on the the engine to overtake at both above and below 70 mph, and by stress I mean as little as extra acceleration to keep up to 70mph on a hilly section of motorway (Which happened to me yesterday), or to just get home slightly quicker than 70mph lets if you get what i mean...
 
The car also feels underpowered to me compared to my previous Omega DTH's, but this feeling could just be all in my head but I thought it was also worth mentioning.
 
I hope you have some loverly suggestions to this as it is ruining what is a loverly car.
