Omega General Help / Fuel rail fittings
« on: 21 November 2017, 22:02:26 »
I am building a kit car using 3.0 Omega engine but do not have the fuel pipes that connect to the engine

Does anyone know what are the fittings vauxhall used on the fuel rail that connect to the fuel feed and return pipes so that I can get some flexible pipes made up to connect into my solid 8mm fuel pipes.

I am sure the engine is a replacement.

The oil filter is cartridge type.

I will try and photograph the engine not this weekend

Yes I can see the engine very easily as it is in a rolling chassis with no body work around it. It is clean and the numbers posted are the only numbers I can see they are one the LHS in the flange by the oil filter near the gearbox. Are there other numbers I should be able to find?

Omega General Help / Engine numbers
« on: 24 May 2017, 23:31:11 »
Hi

I am building a special and I am using an engine and box from an Omega. I think my engine is a 3.0 and manual gearbox but not sure as the engine number and log book(V5) do not seem to match.

The logbook shows engine no 08254289 which I guess is 2.5 ltr

But the engine is difficult to read but looks like G4 150A 78777 which I think is a 3.0ltr

Is this correct? What sort of power does it make the seller told me 210hp?

Omega General Help / manual gearbox options
« on: 14 February 2013, 22:58:35 »
does any one know what is the best manual gearbox to convert an omega from Auto to manual.

Manual cars seen hard to find in manual format for 3.0. So what are the pitfalls of the conversion except for the pedals. Do both the 2.5 nd 3.0 gearboxes bolt up to the 3.0 auto engine? Which is the best flywheel? Are the any other hidden problems like the crank sensor? I know nothing about the Omega wiring but does the omega ECU run the autobox as well like the Zetec or is the Auto ECU happy just running the engine.

Anyone done a auto to manual conversion?
