Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Cdc Safe on a ccr2006
« on: 26 November 2006, 00:29:36 »
Hi all, thanks for the suggestions. If you hold the cd source button down when turning it on there is no option to enter a code, I have also had the unit out and checked the ribbon cable but thats all ok (sadly). I have also tried disconnecting the battery (before I decided to take unit out) to reset the unit but alas that was also a no go. Think I will take to a garage I now in widnes and see if he can pull any fault codes with tech2.

you can do the passengers side in situ, but you need to take the oil dipstick tube out ( at least I did) There isnt enough room to torque all the nuts up though. What i did was to torque up the ones I could then felt what they felt like with a spanner and did the 2 front ones I couldnt get onto with the torque wrench with a spanner to the same as the one I did torque up. I did mine last week

Omega General Help / Re: Saloon or Estate?
« on: 27 May 2007, 00:18:39 »
depends on what you want the car for. as an example I tow a caravan and have 2 dogs so an estate is better for me. However I wish I could have a saloon as they are quieter and more comfortable. I am assuming estates have tougher rear suspention to cope with the better load carrying

Omega General Help / Re: Exhaust manifold torque values
« on: 24 May 2007, 00:35:19 »
well done it now. it was the manifold to downpipe joint. Sorted out my coolant leak as well (touch wood) the metal coolant pipe thats bolted to the back of the engine

will check studs when I do the gasket. Am I correct in thinking exhaust assembly paste like Holts firegum is no good at the manifold? How much is a manifold if worst comes to the worst (hope not)

Omega General Help / Exhaust manifold torque values
« on: 17 May 2007, 00:33:10 »
When doing the exhaust manifold how important is it to use the correct torque value of 20 Nm and not to tighten them tighter? The reason I am asking is I have done the gasket once before but didnt torque it just tightened it good and tight and it seemed fine ie no blowing, but over time (about 6 months) its started blowing again. Now if it was a warped manifold wouldnt it have started leaking straight away

Out of interest where can you get uprated bushes for the omega? Am going to be changeing my front wishbones as well. I am going to be getting guenuine vauxhall ones as I do quite a bit of towing and the after market wihbone bushes dont seem to be able to take the extra stain as well as the vauxhall ones. Just a shame they arnt still on the trade club (there £175 +vat at mo)
