Omega General Help / Re: Turbo go boom
« on: 02 October 2013, 22:43:42 »
Hello, Fi's better half here.

Okay, so far ive figured out the same turbo is in the Omega, Frontera, Vectra and Saab. All 2.2 Dti/Tid models.

The frontera exhaust housing needs to be swapped from our old turbo so id prefer to just sit one in(i have a tendency to break things).

So my question is, are they all the same? They look the same. Only difference between all vehicles is the BHP.

Thanks

Omega General Help / 2.2 DTI Slow to Start
« on: 20 March 2013, 22:25:40 »
Hey Everyone

I may as well get straight to Business.

I recently bought a 2.2 DTI omega. When i bought her, the fella told me she was down on power, although coming from a 75bhp toyota carina i cant say i have noticed. I am also an mpg man so drive quite steady. I have noticed the car is slow to start, especially in the mornings. I always wait for the heater plug light to go out but she still takes a moment to start.

When i start the car, she wont rev out clean. Tends to feel kind of blocked up, then releases if im making sense. After a while of driving the car seems fairly free, although does not seem "powerful". Im not mechanically stupid, i just said i would see if anyone know's anything before i go hunting. Im thinking a dodgy AFM or EGR valve, or am i wrong?

Also, while im here......what temp is normal for these dti's to run at? Driving on a cool day, the temp will barely even register, city driving it will reach no more than 85-90. The fella i bought her from seems to have swapped the fan speed wires, telling me he likes the faster speed to kick in early, keeping the car cooler. Again, this is just inexperience on my part with these cars, it does seem to make sense to me though.

Thanks in advance, apologies about the essay!  :y

Hey Everyone

The names Chuck or Charlie, from Cork in Ireland. I recently bought a 2.2 DTI Omega and have also owned 2 2 litre petrol omega's and a 2.5v6 omega a few years back. So nice to be back in a nice comfortable omega although it needs some slight tlc :) I also own an E36 M3 drift car in which i take part in various series over here.

Thanks for looking :D
