Omega General Help / Gear Shift Tub?????
« on: 15 November 2013, 16:13:07 »
My 2.5 V6 manual decided it wanted to stay in 4th, conveniently on VX's service car park -_- £68 later and a ''temporary fix'' (cable ties) from VX, I was informed that my gear shift tub had gone. It still selects all gears, although 5th can be a little temperamental at times. The part itself is £85 from VX and £217 to supply and fit.

My question is this - can i fabricate one myself and how easy is it to get to??

That reverse camera does look mighty fine  :y

Reverse camera on an omega? Whats wrong with good ol MK 1 eyeballs.

Absolutely nothing wrong with my eyes, its the Mrs who drives a Corsa thats the issue. She feels the Omega is ''too big''  :-\

But then again I do drive 50ft artic lorries for a living  ;D

Thanks all, dbug, will have a go on the droplinks when the weather picks up :D

I've had chance to fiddle about with the buttons and figure them out but this one is a little deceiving

Obviously i know how to operate the lights, just in case there are a few comedians on board ;) It's the ''Tm'' button I'm trying to work out . . .

Never was one of those ''i wonder what happens if i push this'' people  ;D

Hiya guys (n girls)!! Picked up a tidy Omega 2.5 V6 Elite last friday night, would have said hi sooner but my other half had a baby on Saturday morning so its been a tad hetic round here :D

Well for my first Vauxhall, I dont think I could have done much better with this. Straight swap for my Ford Puma so I think I got the better part of the deal here. Lovely through all gears, amazing cruiser on the motorway and even quite economical around town for a 2.5l. Slight knocking on the o/s front which i'm putting down to either a bush, joint or maybe the droplinks, hopefully wont cost the earth :/
