i had not heard of it either before this, if you can get hold of one its cheap enough to give a try, could buy you time to shop round for a new rad

we had a leak on our V6 that we could not find anywhere (was losing about half inch a week)
took it to local independent vauxhall garage, they did pressure test and found the leak was inside the v, said it was a small washer and was not worth a strip down to do it due to cost.
they dropped a "resin s**t stick" (there words not mine) in the water bottle and the leak stopped withing days and we have had no problem with it in the past 2 months.
they told us that the resin stick is a genuine vauxhall part complete with vauxhall parts number.

Omega General Help / Re: RUNNING TEMP
« on: 09 August 2006, 10:04:41 »
when we first got our V6 it ran at about 95 most of the time and up at about 100 if driven hard,
we then had to tow caravan and temp ran at about 95 at a stead speed but in traffic and on hills it shot up into the red,
after the weekend away we check the rad and found a small cold spot, gave it a flush - no better so fitted a new rad and this cured it, it now runs at about 90 most of the time and at about 95 when driven hard but drops back to 90 very quickly as soon as i drive steady again.
towing caravan it still runs at 90ish and 95ish on hill and in heavy traffic.

Citroen relay converted to 8 seater - not alot i can say about this thing.
ford focus estate - bland boring car.
Nissan micra - under powered and i have to sit with my knees each side of the wheel.
citroen c4 - strange car to drive speedo is in the middle of the dash, rev counter is in the middle of the steering wheel which does not move with the wheel, and the cruise control has two settings one which you still have to use the peddle but will only let you go as fast as the set speed, the first time i drove it someone had left it on this one i set it at 60 on single track road got to dual carriage way put my foot down and the bloody thing would not move any quicker.

have left the best to last 2.5 v6 elite

my brother in laws friend is a car dealer he had a none English customer wanting to by a car.
the customer held out a cheque with a phone number written on the back saying you phone you phone,
so he phoned it and it was the local council that told him that the cheque was from them and was ok.
he ask the council officer about the customer not having any insurance etc and was told that it was nothing to do with them.
I'm glad to say he told the guy to get lost
