Omega General Help / Car Rattling in Drive
« on: 05 August 2013, 15:09:03 »
Hi,

My Omega 2.2 CD 16v Auto appears to have developed a very annoying rattle.

It only appears after I have driven a few miles and only when stationary but with the car in drive, it disappears when car is in neutral.

My initial thought was that it was the exhaust rattling but a visit to Kwikfit resulted in them assuring me the exhaust was fine.

Since then I have forced the rattle at home and it does disappear when pressure is applied to the exhaust suggesting that it is in fact the exhaust rattling against something at certain revs.

However, before I revisit Kwikfit or ANOther exhaust type place does anyone else here have experience of this?

Thanks in advance..

Shaun

Newbie Welcome Area / Hello from an Omega newbie
« on: 30 June 2013, 18:27:15 »
Hi,

Bought my first Omega yesterday, 2002, 52 plate 2.2litre CD Auto jobbie with 105k on the clock.

Initial reaction is that it is a dream to drive, hope I continue to enjoy driving it...

I recently bought a Cav 2.0 GLS which was also a dream to drive for a whole 750 miles till everything started going wrong (various sensors etc...) so that has been relegated to the drive as a sometime in the future when I get around to it project...

I am very much a novice when it comes to all things mechanical but am willing to give things a go so be prepared for lots and lots of questions and requests for advice.

Cheers

Shaun.
