Hi Guys,
THank you for your replies. This looks a little suspicious as the bloke I had contacted here in Australia who said the motor was not suitable for marine conversion had told me he could sell me a standard manual Morris Minor engine. Sounds like he had a vested interest in selling me one of his motors.
With that large hole in the block does the oil pick up just push in and stay there on its own?
So, it looks like if I fit a suitable oil strainer that will fit into the cast iron sump and go down to the lowest part of the sump (the sump being on an angle to fit to the shaft) and then fit a standard oil pump I should be able to proceed with the project.
