I remember seeing the "Omega" sold as a Cadillac in the USA in the mid/late 1990's

It escapes me what it's model name was? I thought maybe "cimmarron"

Anybody out there got one or knows anything more?
I recall a full width high level brake light across the full width of the bootlid (trunk  :-\ ) which looked pretty nice!

Cheers

Thanks Elvin,

Yes indeed, it's the ecu for the abs/tc, Bloody awkward to remove, ordered an identical 'used but guaranteed' part off ebay for 30 quid, i'll wait till it arrives (and the rain stops) before i switch them over.

at which time I shall renew all the brake fluid throughout and check the integrity of the abs senders.

Your link has been extremely helpful.

Just an additional note: I had originally dismissed the ecu, as my speedo is fine, i had thought that speedo failure was necessary to proove ecu fault.. It's not!

Cheers! :y

Meant to mention...

Most likely cause is reference back to the ECU

My Firebird has 2 fuses in it for the ECU on the main fuseboard, one hot at all times and one hot in run only,

Having only had my Omega for a couple of weeks I haven't looked closely at the Omega System but its worth a check into, I had the same problem with the Firebird, turned out to be a 10a fuse!!

Might even be an immobiliser issue?

Cheers

No Start with Good Spark.

The GM system on these cars is a "Bypass System"
The ECU has nothing to do with Spark Control until after 200 rpm or so.

I shall try that, however, is it possible the ABS light being illuminated could be related?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

I just joined the forum have recently bought a 2.6V6 CD

The car has a "problem" The TC and ABS lights remain illuminated, tapping, pushing, punching the TC switch has no effect whatsoever.
From reading through the forums, I've seen references to a TC/ABS module or ECU?? ... Where is that exactly?, also... it may or may not be relevant, the boot release does nothing either, it does illuminate when i open the boot off the fob though?

Any ideas?

Thanks
