Oh well. Cheers.

The engine is definitely under performing still, when on song this car held off a 1 year old Audi TT 3.2 quattro! Right now it's not much quicker than my 2.0ltr diesel Rover 75 which although is a great car, is not the performance model of the range (ignoring the fact that it's also wrong wheel drive).

Thanks for the welcome and the two links, it's great to see the car accepted here.

I have removed the cam sensor and other than three very small iron filings it was clean and looked to be in good condition, as does the plug. I have refitted it, started the engine and re-checked the codes, all of which are still present.

How do I clear/reset the codes? Is it something I can do without plugging in a code reader?

Cheers.

Hello folks,

New here, don't have an Omega but as the title states, I do have a Reliant Scimitar fitted with the engine and gearbox from an ex-police Omega 3.0ltr V6.

I did not carry out the conversion myself, that accolade goes to the previous owner and good friend. This was the first ever known conversion of its type but has proven successful enough for numerous repeat conversions to be carried out. So I'll apologise now for the detrimental effect on the Omega population. However, the cars do tend to be broken for parts so hopefully plenty of Omegas have benefited from this.

This particular car had sat in his garden for the past four years following conversion and I have been recommissioning it.

It has just returned to the road but although running well enough it is down on power. It also hesitates sometimes before clearing itself.

I have read the codes through the dashboard light and have the following:

52 - Engine Check Light Voltage High - what voltage should it be?

94 - Hall Sensor Voltage High - I have taken this to be the Camshaft sensor

144 - Immobiliser No Signal -
                                               - Not all wires from the immobiliser ring are connected but it obviously works
145 - Immobiliser Wrong Signal -

I have read that the Cam sensor on these engines is usually bullet-proof. I shall try removing, cleaning and refitting and check the plug. Is there anywhere else to look?

Thanks for any help,

Smiler.
