Omega General Help / Re: 2.2 cam sensor problem
« on: 14 April 2016, 19:00:04 »
Have just tried pedal trick again and it is showing 1555 still so same as before I cleaned the throttle. Would this have reset or will I need to get it reset? Also, will disconnecting the battery work? Thanks

Right, another twist. I have just completed the throttle cleaning process as described and there was a lot of crud in there so glad I did it. Upon starting the engine I still have engine light on, when I repeat the pedal trick to identify the fault code it does not give me anything??? Is this now a case of disconnecting the battery to reset the Ecu?
Many thanks for all who have helped with this, I know it must be testing your patience, maybe even as much as mine 😀

First I tried it in P and it didn't work so put it into D and hey presto it worked a treat. Mine is a 2002 2.2cd

So code p1555 is throttle position Sensor and nothing to do with cam sensor as originally thought. Is this an easy fix?

Omega General Help / 2.2 cam sensor problem
« on: 13 April 2016, 15:35:26 »
Hi, hope somebody can help me with this issue. I had what appears to be a fairly common issue with my 2002 2.2 petrol, the engine light (one with spanner) would come on intermittently whilst driving but would not effect performance at all. It would then go off and come back as and when. Reading through the posts on here it seems that this was most likely a cam sensor problem, so I decided to replace and bought a pattern part off a Vauxhall specialist website. After I had replaced the cam sensor the engine was difficult to start and kept cutting out, I then read that people insist on a genuine Vauxhall part (Siemens one). I therefore repeated the process and put the old sensor back in and now the engine runs fine once more but the engine light is on permanently. Is this now simply a case of ordering a replacement Siemens unit and the fault should be fixed?

Thanks

I have put new batteries in both fobs and still the same, one fob only works to open and other fob will only close...I am at a loss now as both keys were working yesterday before I replaced the motor

Hi, already tried re syncing the fob and that didn't fix the issue. I don't think syncing is the issue though as the unlock function works perfectly on one fob then when I switch to the other fob the unlock works but won't lock. Could this be a battery issue? Thanks

Omega General Help / Central Locking issue
« on: 10 January 2016, 17:48:14 »
I have a 2002 52 2.2CD, when I bought the car it had a fairly common problem in that the central locking worked on all doors apart from drivers door, leading to the system requiring manual locking/unlocking with key to lock drivers door. When locking the door I would press the lock button on the key for and the indicators would flash to indicate that the alarm was set. This was an easy fix, new drivers door motor for system, however, now the central locking works perfectly on all doors to open with fob but will not lock with fob, only by key???
I am at a loss as the key works fine to open and all doors open simultaneously, I have also now lost the indicator flash when pushing lock button on fob...Any ideas???
