Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: CDC600 options

There is one other question, the cable that runs to link the cassette to the multichanger in the boot, can this be used, ie: change the head unit and multichanger but use the existing cable. It would be easyer than laying a new cable.

Thank's for that, sorry it is a ccr600. I think my best option would be just to replace the lot and not bother with any of the extra'a. New head unit & changer front's and sub. Start from scratch, it was just a thought on what I could have used or easyest way round the install.

Thankyou

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CDC600 options

I have been reading through different post's on hear etc, but carn't find an answer. I have a 98 Omega 2.5d CD. It has a Philips CDC600 casette with a Blaupunkt 6 disk multichanger. Now I am not a fan of the stereo, it has no pre out's (rca's) volume display etc. Is there another stereo I can put in it's place maybe a Philips/Blaupunkt with no mod's that will link with the multichanger, display, steering wheel control's. Or one that will link to some of the car's original equiptment like the multichanger.
My plan is to upgrade the front's add a single sub and an amp. I know the original front's are supposed to be quite good but I still would like better.

Thanks.

Had another garage look at the car, they have been right through it, all they could suggest is that it may be the sencer on eather the side of the fule pump or the throttle sencer, but they did not know. I got realy stressed with the car yesterday and gave it a good hamering, fault dissapeared.
So with the fault disapeared I poped back to see my mate, he plugged in his programer and it came up with fault code 64 low fueling, but the car ran fine all last night. Drove the car lunch time and happining again for a while, suddenly it stopped playing up.
I have spoken to a few places an knowone seam's to have a clue or want to touch it.
Anyone please.

While haveing a look myself I have noticed that there is a metal tube which I have arrowed and it is realy loose and does not attach to anything else ie: not going anywhere. Just wondering what it is, is it the egv, where should the pipe be going, i'm gessing its not suposed to be loose.

Omega General Help / Re: 2.5Td diesel injector pump

So the older pump & potentiometer can be used on a later version? Is that right? I have been trying to get a spair one from loads of places and know one has one, just would like to try changing to see if this cures my problem, may also change number 3 or 4 injector, the one with the sencer on, to try and eliminate things.

Just wondering if all the 2.5Td injector pumps are all the same. Also are they all the same on the 2.5 BMW. If not are they interchangable?

Also where is the best place to get one second hand?

Had the car back in the garage and they cannot find the problem.

Been working the car tonight and it's getting worse, had to stop work as it was dying.

Just wondering if it could be the throttle potentiometer?

I am desperate and cannot get anyone to have a look, knowone/know garage seams to like these cars, it's putting me out of work at the moment as its my taxi.

Reading up on TIS doesn't make for pleasant reading.

Check the pump is connected securely, also check the connector wiring for the injector with the needle sensor.

Yeh the one garage has had a goo look so I would gess the pump is secure, but the last part you mentiond, how do I check this, is there any pics avalible to show me where I should be looking. Sorry to be a pian, just this is realy anoying me at the moment.

Thanlyou

My 2.5Td 98, it keep's momenteraly trying to stall when changing gear as the rev's drop lightly.

Omega General Help / Re: 2.5Td cutting out with management light??
« on: 29 October 2007, 00:21:50 »
I have just read this while searching on the net, can anyone shine some light on it please.

"Having trouble with diesel pump advised by main dealer to replace £1500+++ only 87k miles. The problem with the pump is that sometimes when you take foot off gas the engine wants to cut out but picks up at the last second before dieing. Apparently its a intermittent electronic fault , but you can't repair pumps."

Anyone?
