Can anyone tell me, does the plastic cover on the plenum with the ecotec print(2001 3.0 v6 ) click off or slide off. And when removed, does it give access to breather hoses? Was told it clicks off but afraid of breaking it.

Hello all. Fitted a new fuel filter today,and although it seemed to connect properly, discovered it was leaking badly at front end. Connection on old filter was difficult to release, and after removal it appeared corroded and have possibly damaged the connection...looks like it was butchered by a previous owner or mechanic.
I now can't fit new filter and car will have to be off the road in meantime (use it for work). Will I have to replace the whole fuel line or can I just replace the connector....if they are indeed available...it's like an elbow joint and looks quite difficult to remove from main line, tight fit and crimped...obviously made that way. Filter clicks in OK back end. How do I post a pic 😉

Sry that must be what he meant...he just said the brain of the alarm. I'm not very knowledgeable on car electrics at all. The for the heads up anyhow ps I meant footwell not footwear lol...hate typing on this phone.

That's correct. He said it's located near where the bonnet pI'll lever is above drivers footwear. He's got a good reputation with vauxhall owners and apparently knows his stuff. I'm sure he'll know if it's the right one or not. Sod drives a vxr8 bathurst...stood drooling over it.

Thx for replies...I just had it in with a vauxhall bloke (not a dealer) and he said the brain is faulty, his tech machine couldnt communicate either. He knows a guy breaking 2 omegas and can get me a new brain (for the car 
) along with the key. I'll update when its sorted along with any info that may be of use to anyone. cheers

I tried all the above and no joy. Still at a loss as to why the diagnostic machine couldn't communicate with ecu

I should add, after reading other info here, it probably isn't the power sounder i disconnected, as i believe they continue to holler after the battery is disconnected, which mine didn't do. Confused

Hello all, i hope someone can help as i have MOT this week.
My key fob stopped working as i tried to get to work a few days ago, so I opened car with key thinking once i put key in ignition it would knock off alarm....but no. so as alarm blared at 7am i decided to disconnect battery, then i disconnected power sounder and removed fuse for hazard lights (which also disables info on dash,speedo, radio and air conditioning etc).
I went to buy a new key fob...£70
, but his tech machine wouldn't communicate with car diagnostics in order to sync new fob 
. I was wondering if this had anything to do with the alarm being in activation mode, and/or the power sounder being disconnected. Btw the fuse had to be re-fitted during this. In the meantime I'm still driving car ok, but with a few dashlights flashing. The boot doesn't open either from the main console. Can't get through MOT like this.
I managed to knock together an old fob, the red light shows when pressing buttons, but no joy communicating with car.
Any help greatly appreciated (2001 3.0v6 elite)
