Thanks a garden sprayer sounds a good idea I'll probably wait for the weather to warm up it seems ok at the moment It was a bit worrying how the knackered TPS effected it I thought gearbox was fried as there a burning clutch smell when I made it home lucky I was only a mile away.

I found if it wont crank a long implement like a broom handle will reach starter from inside wheel arch to give the starter motor a tap (its hard to get to from above) as a get you home mine worked ok for a while after that until I got around to getting underneath to sort it out.

I had similar problem the bolts holding the starter motor on were not very tight and causing a poor earth sometimes.

Hi I had a problem with my  1996 2L 16v yesterday Automatic Gearbox on display and it wouldn't go above 5mph think I've fixed it now it was throttle position sensor . It set me thinking of changing ATF and filter. There seems to be different styles of filter one with a pipe that sticks up one without tried putting reg in on a couple of sites both come up. Any ideas how I can find out which one without dropping the pan ?

There must be something that could be repurposed in the clip world that's too much £. Mine has several missing both sides one side I have never taken off (yet)

Cheers I was after some of these I had to do some refurbishment on a sill for MOT this year the bit at the end in the wheel arch had rotted. It passed yesterday after failing on emissions found loose studs on exhaust manifold.

Funny at last years mot it developed a leak at mot place but it was the water pump then don't think it likes mot's lol

By coincidence my 20l has had a similar coolant leak this week (I know its not like your engine) took mine for mot and it was dripping man refused to do mot got it home no dripping even though still had coolant and engine hot. Even pressure test with compressed air it took some finding it was a pin hole in hose under intake manifold managed to get to it by taking alternator off. Cut about 15mm off pipe and managed to seal.

To be honest once you work out where all the bolts are that hold the bracket on (one hidden under the aircon compressor) it's not so bad and I think I'd do it this way again.
