Hi.
I get a faultcode when i start the car when its hot. It says that the camshaftsensor has a problem. I have changed it and it does not seem to be the problem. I have also changed the cable. I think that the ECU for the ignition (Siemens is beeing overheated).
i have bought one from a scrapyard with the exakt same numbers as on the one i have. I changed it but the car didnt even start. Is there something i have to do to pair it with the car or is the one i bought broke?

The track on the PC in the key from the Open switch broke on mine.  The pad was still soldered to the switch but the pad to track was broken.

Everything was then very intermittent depending on whether the broken ends were touching or not.  Even if the key light came on the key sometimes did not open the car - I wondered if the signal was too short or too corrupted to work.  Soldering a new link fixed the problem.

Good tip! I will check! :y

Hi Ingmar,

If I was you I would change all the locks to that you get a key that works in the door as well.

Are you a member on the Swedish Opel group on Facebook? You will find people there who scrap cars now and then and you could get a complete lock set there.

I don't know if the Facelift locks fit on your car but if the do I have a complete setup with locks and the electronics that goes with it and with an ECU for V6 (you need tha tone too). If the ECU isn't correct you will need to reprogram yours to fit the new stuff.
Thank you, i have ordered one set from a scrapyard.

Do you mean that the key won't open or lock the driver's door manually? In which case the barrel might need lubricating or the barrel has been changed.
The receiver for the remote locking is in the roof by the mirror mounting /sun-roof switch. It's likely OK since the remote works sometimes.
Strong radio signals can interfere with the remote locking. The range drops right off when I parked a pre-facelift behind a Police station that has an antenna forest on the roof.
What make is the new battery? There's container loads of fake Panasonic cells around. At least in the UK. Go for a GP or Sony or Varta from a reputable source. IE Not Amazon or ebay or corner shop.
Someone before me has changed the locks. My key only work in the ignitionlock.
I have changed battery several times but none of the marks you mensioned.

Sounds like you need a new solinoid.
Thanks, but the solenoid works.

I have a Omega 2.0 16V 1999. My remote work sometimes. I have changed battery. The remote indicate with a red light when i push the button. I only have one remote and the key does not work in the doors. The central locking works well when i push the button on the door. Where is the remotesensor located? Maybe some problem there or in the key?
