Did a 2ins roof chop of the Herferod yesterday with help from 4 of my mates from the hot rod club, I did the cutting and they did the lifting! It worked out well and only had to slice the window frame enough to stretch it out 1/4ins each side, roof moved forward 1 1/2ins so B post cut out and moved back that far where it fits to roof/header rail. Another day of welding ahead then!
My sister had one back in 70s, head was skimmed and I ported it as no4 exhaust was a bad casting and was a lot smaller than the rest. It went like $h1t of of a shovel.
Having a look at it today, I assume that the fuel pump gets a feed when you crank engine over like most systems and does not need a speed signal to do this??
Well I was going to say I am fitter at 70 than most of you but then my back went out , now on painkillers just to make it into the living room. I need to look at why the Austin/Omega wont start before the wet weather starts as it is in the car park at the flat and I should only be using one parking space.
Did a scan and fault code 31 (no speed signal) came up, it should show cranking speed on lie data so looks like the sensor has gone down. Drove fine on the way home but no go next morning. 97, 3L v6 so what is part number and where is best place to get a Bosch one?
Well the Yeti is in limp mode, phone not uploading pics and then the Countryman wont start. No crank signal (31) reader shows, that will be fun to get at as its at home on gravel. Will have to jack it up as its only accessible from under. Now I need to get the Bosch part number.
Had to press the Countryman back into service as the Yeti is playing up, bloody emission stuff. That Omega engine is sweet and sounds the mutts nuts with the straight through silencers!!
