Omega General Help / Re: An Omega Suitable For Towing?? Suggestions??

I tow a 22ft caravan, max weight 1460kgs.......My 2.5TD facelift estate copes with that ok, plenty of power and economy 24-28mpg depending on how you drive of course. I had a lighter caravan before the current one and that's really did tow nicely behind the Omega.
Not even had to uprate the suspension either as the ride and handling seems fine up to now.

Mick

:o thought you had nicked my car then lol,  v6 is the way to go when towing and I have had most cars from 2.0 to 3.0, rule of thumb bigger is better.. :y

yep just gone through this senario myself, I would go to the CPS and change it, Its the most likely cause, this is the third one on mine from new (may2000) which is pretty crap to be honest, but the rest of the car makes up for it... :y easy to replace 1/2 hour job

« on: 17 December 2007, 13:38:03 »
Its worth checking the tow bar electrics as its a sure bet that the power for the towbar is taken directly from the rear loom, I had a bad towbar plug caused all sorts of probs because of corrosion inside it, might be worth checking. :y

« on: 16 December 2007, 22:33:29 »
We have a guy ere in Bradford who repairs em, I had a big dent in one of mine due to huge pot hole, the tyre was shot but the rim was repaired done a very good job too, he fitted the tyre and had it balanced, £25 for the repair, my other expense was the tyre £128, bloody low profiles :-?
