Omega General Help / Re: OMEGA 2.6 LOST POWER?

The engine management on the 2.6 also has post-cat lambda sensors which detect cat efficiency, so I'm not sure what they will have done with them if they have removed the cats. At the very least, the engine management should now have illuminated the emissions light!  :-/

Kevin

no light on yet , think im gonna put the cats back in to be on the safe side and take it from there ???

thanks again for all your comments

But if it is a facelift 2.6 then unfortunately M-tek don't do chips for them, you can't chip the 2.6.

is that in general or by m-tec

i spoke to superchips they can do it £299 all in!

The 2.5 is a VERY reliable lump, as is the 3.0. The 2.0, whilst underpowered, is also a very strong engine. The key to keeping them all alive is 3k oil changes...

i really dont get asked for the other 2 just the 2.5 strange! , oil change every 3k seems a lot , would i need to do this on the 2.6?

thanks for your help guys i appreciate it.

Ive done senators and ive had 3.0 auto omegas but im looking for a change and ive found a 2.6 manual omega cd on 2001 plate.

What are the engines like for power and reliability?,
i cant seem to find any details anywhere but in my opinion the 2.5 engines were terrible , i work at a breakers and get asked for these engines and heads all the time , im wondering is the 2.6 gonna be the same thing.

thanks in advance
richard.
