Found the problem 

Passenger side front plug well filling with water. No sign off water making it's way there so looked at plug well itself and i have a slight weep into the plug well    looks like the plug well has gone porous.

Any ideas as to a cure ? was thinking maybe trying some of that "liquid metal" or possibly a thin stainless steel sleeve

 Hi Chris, Yes it definately sounds like a Scoobie  so i tend to think it's more likely to be Dis pack coupled with the fact it only starts to miss when it warms up possibly a HT lead fault but unlikely to have 2 leads fail at same time.

What are the symptoms of imminent coil pack failure ?

3.0 v6 Starts perfect everytime but when the engine has warmed up, usually after 2-3miles developes a miss. I can stop the engine and restart it and it's still missing. Turn engine of and start it from cold the miss has disappeared but as engine warms up the miss returns.
Checked the codes and only 12 + 31 so all is well there.

Any ideas ?

Problem sorted    Checked the fuses and found that fuse no 15 had blown, replaced the fuse and all gauges etc are working again.

Now next question    On the legend on the fusebox panel fuses 2, 12, 14, 15, 26 all have KL and the ampage and what the relevant fuse is for, but what does 'KL' refer to ?

Just the gauges and trp meter have failed. Will check dash panel in the morning and report back

Cheers peeps will have a look at the fuses and check the dash panel in the morning as i'm off to work in short while.

ABS failure is totally different to the symptoms you describe - Does the pulse for the speedo come from the ABS pump  ie brake sensor to ABS pump to dash panel or does it come from brake sensor direct to dash panel. Brakes are fine and ABS is working too. I may be getting confussed with some other fault

On a 2.5TD W plate, Going along the motorway last night the dash board decided to start playing up. Lost all the gauges(fuel, temp, tacho, speedo etc) trip meter has gone into default mode(outside temp only-no radio info etc) all dash board lights are working though.
Is there a voltage regulator fitted somewhere to control the gauges or is this a sign of something more sinister ?

I seem to recall something about a speedo failure being related to the ABS pump on another forum members car, or am i confussing this with something else ?

Try unpluging the 4 pin connector a few times and give it a squirt of contact cleaner or WD40, may be a little damp/corrosion got in there. Try the same with the temp sensor as well.

There's a lot of salt out there at the moment and it gets everywhere, salt attracts the damp as well

Make sure the radio is turned off then press the ON button and AS both together then put your code in using the 1,2,3and 4 buttons when you've entered the the correct number press and hold the AS button for about 5sec when the display changes press any of the number buttons and you should have a working radio

I take it you remove the insulation as well
