Thanks Dave - I'll give that a try.

I don't know if it's connected but I'm also having an intermittant fault with the drivers door speaker. It'll kick in if it's loud and bass enough

I did have a leak around the base of the antenna - perished rubber

Hi Dave,

I've already done that - although it made no difference I've left it disconnected for now

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Battery Drain

I've moved this over from General Help.
I have a battery drain whereby after a couple of days the battery is flat. After trying various suggested things (thanks guys) these are my present results

Current draw from batt -ive to car -ive 0.71 (10amp scale)

Removal of fuse 6 ....... 0.41 (Radio)
Removal of fuse 12 & 6   0.18 (includes radio)

Does having a phone card in the radio draw any current when switched off?

I noticed while 12 was out that the climate control fan kicked in with keys out of the ignition!!

Anyone got any ideas now?

Oh yes Alternator charging at just under 14v with a small drop with aircon & headlights on

Having had a play this morning it appears fuse 6 runs the amp as the radio still works with it removed albeit silent

If you contact TomTom via their website and explain what happened ie you bought it and then they bought out a new map they will give you the update free. They initally wrote back to me saying it was just unlucky but I pointed out they knew it was being released and should have told me. After a few emails I got it free. It wasn't this update but one a year ago. Worth a try

I guess you would call it a cheapo Tech2 but if it reads the codes easier that the paperclip method then I'm happy  :) As you can see it can also work with the Vag software but i wonder why they mention this if it's not for Vauxhall?

I'm just in the process of added a Tech2 to my toolbox. Is there any other dianostic software that can use the interface?
I've heard of VagCom but after looking it up it seems to be for VW or Audi
Thanks

The black connector is there (multisocket) and a mini coax all wrapped in a little piece of grey foam - obviously never used
Mine's on the right rather than left but I guess it could be moved if needs be.
By the way yes I do have the saloon
