Thanks guys, it is a W reg 2000 car and everything else does work fine its just tjhe CD unit that thinks it needs a code. I guess I have to find a replacement unit now then?

Hi I am new to this but i would like some advice. I have a 2000 CDX saloon with a multi change CD player in the dash as standard. I recently changed the battery and th CD hasnt worked since.
It keeps saying CD safe as if it needs a code but i have no cod for the CD only the radio and when I put that in it sets the radio up ok but then it does'nt ask for a code for the CD I am at a loss any help please?
