Omega General Help / Re: Gearbox problem?
« on: 05 March 2008, 12:42:25 »
Just jacked the drivers side up, undone the filler bolt, and loads of oil has come out even when jacked up... put a bowl under then lowered the car. Started her up went through the gears and there is now no Automatic Gearbox up on the computer....
Could it be there was too much oil in the gearbox?
Am i right in thinking that you start the engine up, work through the gears when the car is on the floor, allowing the level to settle at the level bolt, then fit the bolt back again?

Get the sump off and check for thrust washer :(

Fluid change wont hurt, may just be low fluid

Once Automatic Gearbox is displayed, you need to drive it like a manual.

If you are not in Autobahnstormers, pm for a cheap source of gaskets / filters.

Ok thanks daz back from work now so hes just lookin at it

Omega General Help / Gearbox problem?
« on: 05 March 2008, 12:08:35 »

Hi everyone, this morning coming back from the hospital i pulled up and some traffuc lights and there was a clunk from the car and a loss of power. The gearbox has slipped once before so i put it into park. when the lights changed put it back in drive and there was hardly any power to get up the bank and on the screen it read Automatic Gearbox? Any ideas?
If it needs a new one can i fit an AR35 instead of an AR25?
Thanks guys :'(

Hello all, I am currently working out a deal to get a 1997 Catera, and since there are so many around the streets where i live, i was hoping to come here and find some Opel or Vauxhall (sp) conversion items (grille, badging, emblems) to help me stand out in the crowd.

Cheers!
Andy
