Hi again, ok i have a facelift 2000 (x reg) Omega, does anyone know if there is a switch on this model to use for continental driving or is it a garage job...

No go so far, joys of hands not able to co-operate to much degree in awkward spaces .A bit cheeky for a newbie but is there anyone near Eardisley (hereford) that knows how to carry out this proceedure who would be willing to lend a hand (cause mine are useless
) , we can cover Petrol / Diesel and supply tea / coffee and food. After buying the car we are a bit to skint to afford the vx solution of replace and fit.

aha cool, thanks for that, I will have a look at it in the morning with daylight, can i just confirm though that the unit on my car is under the passenger wiper motor and how easy is it to get to, reason i am asking is that i suffer from rhumatiod arthritis , i think it is just the sounder by this and other threads as the car horn is not sounding and only the hazards are flashing not the headlights.
P.S side note, still have very fond memories of walking my dog round bala lake back in the late 80s

ok, when i can figure out where this scuttle location is, and i remove the unit, will the alarm still operate ok without it when locking the car with the fob ,or does removing the unit render the alarm useless, & or i have a 1995 Omega CDX as well, can i interchange the units in question.

Hiya peeps, well i picked up my CDX (200 facelift model) last night and had a very comfortable cruise back home, all seemed well until tonight when for some reason the Alarm kicked off, i went to disable it sounding but even though nothing was wrong around the car i could not get it to shut off with the remote, the doors unlocked and even the engine started when i put in the key,but it still carried on sounding, any ideas as to what may have happened (we are VERY rural here) and why it would not dissarm when unlocked, I have left it open (Unlocked) at the moment untill the morning and daylight, is it possible to lock via the key so the alarm does not activate.

ahhh, oh well, i will next time.
mind you the headlights on my N reg are shall we say a little on the poor side, even with 50% brighter bulbs fitted (clear lensed bulbs) , the only way to see clearly is to spray the lenses with WD40 and wipe clear. really looking forward to another of these beasts but with good lighting for night driving.

Cool, thanks folks, love these cars , only reason i bought another newer one is because my old 95 (N Reg) CDX is now to old for Continental breakdown insurance.

Hi folks, can someone tell me if all X registered (2000 model) Omega CDX 2.5 headlamps are Xenon, just bought another Omega from ebay but it does not say, unlike my old Omega lenses though this new one has clear lenses. any ideas.
P.S. i have not collected the car yet
