I'm about to remove my powersounder (usual problem). But can someone just confirm that the alarm horn, lights, immobiliser and all that will still function without the powersounder? Obvously i wont have the dual redundant sounders if someone was to remove the battery!

(As this thread is here i thought i'd not bother starting a new thread.)

Assuming the headunit you have is single DIN height, you will also need a facia adaptor to full out the double DIN hole in the dash board. If your MV6 has the silver dash trim the match isnt always perfect. The one i got (3 years ago) is a pretty good match.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Automatic Door Locking
« on: 13 June 2010, 15:40:58 »
Ive just been reading the boot popper mod thread
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1155211091
and wondered if anyone has made an auto locking as the car starts moving.

I guess the brake pedal could be used to lock the doors (i.e. as soon as you step on the brakes the doors lock) but what about unlocking the doors when you reach your destination.

Anyone thought about this in depth?

ill try that this eve

More likely to be dodgy connections to the dash. I doubt disconnecting the battery will achieve owt.  ;)

Like most technical problems....turn it off, turn it back on again. We dont understand why it solves things, it just does :y

If your chatting about this
http://www.emergencyequipmentshop.co.uk/lock-relay-unit-p-278.html
i'd imagine that they have a way of sorting out the transponder as its designed for "modern" vehicles. Im sure the police have fitted them in Omegas and/or other Vauxhall before. Follow the fitting guide and im sure it be fine.

best way is to get a decent wireless fm modulator, Dave DND can supply link to one he proves which works well. Approx £30 i believe  :)

The BEST way is to get a decent aftermarket headunit with a proper iPod interface. i.e. something from Alpine, or Pioneer etc

I know this isnt possible because it would be common practice, but why cant you just put a 2ohm resistor in series with the speaker?? 2 ohm speaker + 2 ohm resistor = 4ohm load??? Explain.

there is a daylight running lights circuit in the loom for swedish market.

Did anyone ever work out how this worked? There was some talk of replacing one of the headlight relays to make the lights come on with the engine.
