Omega General Help / Re: Omega imobiliser
« on: 25 January 2009, 11:07:31 »
HIyas,
I have been advised that it is my fuel pump at fault. I am trying to remove the old one now.
I hour later....Ok got the pump out wired it back up and it pumps away when i crank the engine. I assume thats a good thing because it means its working.
But im still stuck with the same problem(wont start).
If i disconnect the elec connector from the top of the fuel pump, i dont get the strange reding from my rev counter..
Does this mean I have a short on fuel pump elec connections??

     Anyone??  Duncan :( :(

           :o :o :o :o

I have swapped relays, the fuel injector and the fuel pump relay are identical. Same thing. Im gonna go for the fuel pump then I think.

I know that the two pink relays are 1. fuel pump...2.fuel injectors.
But do you think my prob is the fuel pump??

Ahh thanks for that. Can I give you my symtoms.....Car running fine, parked up at mine. Next day would not start. Turn on the ignition and I get 5000revs showing on the rev counter. crank it , wont start. Rest the key and i get a chattering pink relay under the bonnet.
I have discovered that if I disconnect the connections on top of the fuel tank, i do not get the funny readings on the rev counter or the chattering relay. Checked today and I have no spark. Assuming this is an imobiliser prob??? :( :(

OK, No spark. What do you think?? Immobiliser?
If i unplug the fuel tank elec connector, i do not get the dodgy redings on rev counter or chattering relay.
But i still dont get a spark.

  Anyone help?? >:(

Hiya M8,
I didnt check for spark,I should have done but i dont have a long reach plug socket, and they are burried in the middle of the block. Going to get a spark plug tomorrow and just disconnect the lead and plug in my new plug ;). that should do it. i think :o
Cheers for the reply. back again tomorrow??

         Duncan.

 Hiya,
The eml light is not showing on the dash, so i get no fault codes. Well that is maybe 1 in 10 turns of the ignition will show a brief blip in the eml light. If i paper clip at that time i just get a continuos flash maybe once a second, this does not stop untill i turn the ignition off.
This morning i have discovered that if i disconnect the fuel pump connector in the boot (on top of the tank) i do not get the spurious rev counter readings or the chattering fuel relay. I am now thinking it may be a wiring or pump problem.....
     :-/ :-/ :-/
Any one????

:( It didnt work. New crank sensor in. Reassembled evrything spot on. Turn the key,,,,,same old thing cranks fine but wont fire. Bugger.
 OK, Cam sensor??
Gotta do something. Any clues as to how to go about this one anybody.
When i switch ignition on, i get 5000 revs showing without the engine running. When i crank it over i get about 1000 revs showing. when i rest the key, i get a chattering fuel relay under the bonnet untill i switch off.  Help me please,

Desperate duncan. :'(

Cool. Managed to get a new Crank sensor today from BMS £29.80. Off the shelf. Bargain I say. Well if it works it will be. Back at work now though, so its going to be weekend before I start trying to re-assemble my poor old miggie.
I will of course let you know how it goes.  ;D ;D, Its gonna work, its gonna work, its gonna work.
