For what it's worth, TIS2000 requires checks of the O2 sensor circuits when T/Codes 170, 173 appear. Might be worth a look.

I suggest you check that the drain below the pollen filter is not blocked. If blocked, it can cause water to enter the vehicle in the passenger floor area.
A build up of leaves, for example, can block this drain.

I took my 98 2.5 CDX estate to have the A/Con re-charged yesterday afternoon. The guy who did it told me that they apply a vacuum to remove the old gas and any moisture within the system. The vacuum level applied to the A/con system is left for an hour and then checked again. Apparently, this vacuum retention test will reveal any leaks in the system. The A/con is then re-charged with new refrigerant and the operation of the system checked. The cost was £56, inc VAT, at an AUTOPOINT franchise outfit.
Fortunately, my system had no leaks and my climate control is now working a treat, just in time for the hot summer we have been promised!

I made up this tool, using a paint roller handle, to release my Omega bonnet catch:
You need to insert it through the front grille, near the top, on the side nearest to the passenger headlight. The 'hook' at the end needs to be pointing upwards and it is used to pull the bonnet release-catch lever towards the passenger side of the car. Took me less than five minutes 'fiddling' to open my bonnet.

The technique I used to free the locks on my Omega estate was to squirt loads of WD40 into the locks, wait five minutes and try to turn the key fairly forcefully, but not enough to break the key. Using this approach, after 2/3 applications, I was successful in freeing both the driver's door and the rear door locks.
Persevere, take your time and use lots of WD40 squirted inside the lock (push the plastic tube which comes with the WD40 can right inside the lock).

The range of acceptable lambda readings is 0.97 - 1.03 so your lambda figure is OK. The problem with your emissions is the high CO figures. For vehicles used before 1 July 2002, the CO figures should be no higher than 0.5% slow and 0.3% fast. For later vehicles, the CO limits are 0.3% slow and 0.2% fast. I had a similar CO emission problem with the Omega (V6) which I keep at our holiday home in Spain. After a high speed run for about 50 Kms along the autopista to clean out the catalyitic converters I took my vehicle back to the testing station and the CO readings had dropped from 2.4% to 0.02%.
Vehicles which are left unused for a while, or which are used for short stop/start journeys should be given a high speed run before having their emissions tested.

I had a problem with the 'Vauxhall Sounder' alarm activating when driving in torrential rain, which only happened twice in about two years. After sounding for about thirty seconds it would go silent and then no more problems for months until I encountered another very heavy rainstorm.
I removed the sounder and prised off the back of the unit and, although it was now dry, there were signs of previous water ingress. Not surprising, really, when you realise the pillocks at Vauxhall have fixed the sounder directly under the scuttle drain!!
I replaced the back of the sounder and sealed it with silicone mastic, especially round the aperture where the connector comes through the backplate. Since sealing the unit I have had no more problems with siren activation.
Perhaps, given the wet summer we have had this year, water got into your car's sounder while you were away and has since dried out.

Hi
Looking for the insert that fits into the handle you use to close the front passenger door. I believe it is called "MOULDING , ASSIST HANDLE L.H. GREY" Part No 90438629. A grey one would be ideal but a black one would suffice.
