Interesting point from yesterday (just before I go the amp replacement route!)

Apparently there is a fuse in the radio itself (described as F1 on a board in the radio), anyone heard of this?

Out of all of this Vauxhall's don't seem v interested in aything to do with sound systems saying "It's not a standard Vauxhall part!", they're opinion is that they'd jst replace the radio if it's not working!
fuse on back of stereo, but that would kill all power.

Is the tuner able to search for new stations, if so, Amp prob. If not, problem with the 12v 'electric aerial' feed from radio to tuner amp and speaker amp.

The radio works, cde tracks on, etc, but no station list appears, and when update is selected, it returns to main display with no radio station displayed.

Car is going in for service tomorrow, I'll ask Vauxhall to diagnose the problem for me!

Thanx for the help

Ah, sorry I assumed it was a Nokia kit!

Which parrot kit do you have? There is a new range of Autoleads specifically for parrot kits but you really would be best advised to email Terry at Sio Communications to confirm as I'm not sure about Bose compatibilty:-

technical@siocommunications.co.uk

Please make sure you mention that the unit is a four digit (NCDR2013) head unit with Bose amp and VDA connector.

That's an interesting point about it being a Nokia kit, the fitter said to me that ALL the main leads are for Nokia kits, but the additional lead that we got adapts it to the Parrot kit, or other leads are available dependant on make of phone.  So I would like to assume that the 109B lead that you mentioned before may be correct.  The fitter is going to talk to Autoleads this morning.

As a by the by, the cost from Vauxhall for the amp is £327.00 inc VAT, but takes 14 days to come in from Germany!

oops, much appreciated.  BTW, the fitter is going to talk to Autoleads about the lead you specified (109B), hopefully, we'll get the amp sorted & get the right lead in the end.

This is more important for me, as I spend a lot of time in the car, and my eldest daughter just got £60 fine & 3 points for answering her phone maually as she pulled out of a car park (silly girl I know!)

Cheers

Guys, thanx for the advice, an update for you.  I have checked fuse F6, and it is still intact.  The fitter asked me to disconnect the negative battery lead, turn on the headlights to try & dissipate any remaining power in the amp (to try & effectively reboot it), then reconnect battery lead & try it, nothing!

Looks like you're right VXL, the amp is knackered!!

So between the nice people at Halfords & Autoleads, after 6 weeks since purchasing my Parrot, I now have no handsfree kit or steroe volume!

Can anyone tell me how many posts I need to have to ask in Parts for sale / required if anyone has an amp for sale?

Thanx again, nuch appreciated

If you have Bose, the correct Autolead is 06-109B (The one with the impedance matching transformers) If any other lead has been used then it's very possible that the Bose Amp will have been damaged.

Thanx VXL, I'll talk to the installer, he was actually given another(!) lead number as the right one (06-115B), and get him to make sure I get the right lead.

When you say the amp may be damaged, is there a fuse on it that could have blown, or does this mean it's a "goner"

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Bose Amp Problem!!

Help needed!!!!

I was having a handsfree car kit fitted yesterday via Halfords (3rd party contractor), and he fitted the lead that was supplied as an additional requirement (after getting the incorrect first lead).  However, this lead also appears to be the incorrect one, and the fitter thinks that it has blown a fuse.  I currently have no sound from the stereo, all functions are working, i.e. cd moves from track to track, and the track minute counter works, he is wondering if there is a fuse on the Bose amp under the rear parcel shelf, if so what is the easiest way of getting to it?

He also removed the loom & connectors for the Trafficmaster, would this have had anything to do with it?

Can't fit the handsfree kit until, a) we get this sorted, and b) Halfords supply me with the correct lead!

Thanx in advance for any help / advice

I have a strange thing now since last week with the snow!

The battery didn't go flat at all (unlike some others!), but the car was snowbound in our car park until Saturday, since then, the dashboard display for radio, warnings is in German.

Anyone any ideas on how to change the language, is it a "dealer thing"?

Thanx in advance, my German isn't great ;D, however, I get the gist when it flashes up"Washer.......stein" & I can't see anything out the windscreen :)

Omega General Help / Re: Front Passenger Door Locked Shut!
« on: 30 January 2009, 11:33:34 »
UPDATE on Problem!!!!!

I tried to unlock the door early this morning on the way to work & still wouldn't have it.

However, mid morning I tried again, this time standing by the passenger door frowning sternly at it & hey presto - it opened!!!!

Have tried a couple of times subsequently, and it's fine.  must be because it's the wifes side of the car......temperamental!!!!  (Emphasis on the mental!)  ::)

I unlocked the car as usual to go out, but my missus had the front passenger door handle up.  All the rest of the doors unlocked except the front passenger door.  Now it's locked shut & it looks like the pin comes up & goes straight back down again :(

Any ideas?  I have seen a thread about door locking & looking at the lock motor, but need to get the door open first to that I presume!

Thanx in advance for any advice

Thanx for the photo, mine needs changing as well, and had got info that it was here or thereabouts.  Just confirmed today, exactly in position shown.

Anyone know the cost of the switch from Vauxhall?
