I've been fooled by the old timer then!
Anyway I can confirm valves bent without openeing up head?

Ok thanks for your input, much appreciated, I'll have the head opened and looked at, will let you know what I find.

Thanks once more,
Shoky

cam timing is ok now, had it checked, had a retired mechanic look at it today he seems to think its not the inlet valves as there is no knocking sounds
but I guess only way I will find out is if I strip head.
Already had the coil pack replaced that pretty much rules most things out :'(

Head still fitted.
Timing was ok pre pump faliure
Went to a professional guy to test compression dont know if he had throttle open.

I guess I will have to take head off and inspect valves, engine only done 51k FSH thats worst thing.
Its a 2.2 cdi 2001 auto

thanks mate

hmmm....
the compression is certainly not 0 on any of the cylinders.
lowest I had was 46 on 1 cylinder.
Had coil pack replaced but still had mis-firing.

Do you think i'd be wasting my time replacing valves?

Had compression test
shows low compression on 2 cylinders.
The water pump went whilst driving although the car did not cut off.
The timing belt did not come off but may have jumped I guess.
Timing belt and water pump tensioners replaced but car shaking afterwards.
