Probably for an older model mate. Phone manufacturers change their fittings every 10 seconds.
My phone is an old model  :)

Hi again guys

Just a general question, my omega has a carphone kit, it was there when I got the car. it says ' Siemen'  on the front, I have an old siemens mobile phone but it does not seem to fit on to the contact, any Idea's what phone would fit.

Thanks

Omega General Help / Re: Sorry, but the scuttle guide is useless.

I spent 45 mins trying to get it off today.  Got the wipers off, but that's it.  Could not get the screw out of the o/s strut tower.  Is it T25 or T28?  Stripped out my T20 after backing it out 2 turns and getting stuck on the rust.  I want to go buy the right bit, so please tell me what to get.

Main thing though, what is the deal with the plastic screws at the base of the windscreen?  I could not get them to release.  If I had had the right crank sensor from VX I would have snipped them off with the dykes.  I'd prefer not to, so any suggestions?

Anything else I need to know once I get past those 2 issues?  Otherwise the scuttle is getting torn out in shreds so that I can get the car back here.  Then I'll have to get one from a breaker.

Thanks in advance!

Hi theo, now it's my turn to help somone.  1 remove screw. the the screw is a torque screw (not a phillips screw ), 2 remove wiper arms, . 3: remove the rubber strip that just pushes on to the scuttle. 4: start at right hand side. 5: lift rubber at bottom of windscreen, you will see the plastic screw, ( turn 45 deg. not 90 ), so the slit is horizontal. Lift off the right hand part of scuttle. do the same with the other screws on the left.  It just pulls towards the front of the car. do the reverse to replace.
can't be clearer than that mate.  :y

Omega General Help / THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED
« on: 27 November 2006, 14:00:57 »
Hi guys

A BIG thank you to all those who helped with advice ( even those who stated the obvious ), the WD 40 worked a treat  :y, the steering is now off of lock, and the key turns in ignition. now to fit a new starter motor, hopfully that will solve the NON starting prob after a 10/12 mile run.

Once again. many many thanks.  the prob went far beyond my car haveing to stay where it was, but that's another story. ;-)

A very  ;D

I would squirt some WD40 into the barrel using the tiny tube that comes with the can and leave it overnight before deciding to take it apart..

Also - don't overlook the obvious - is the steering wheel locked?

The Steering is in lock, but no matter how much I try, it wont move. have done the WD40 letting it soak untill morning. fingers crossed.

Thanks all.

Omega General Help / Re: changeing starter motor
« on: 22 October 2006, 14:47:46 »

first thanks for the info    :y

you say it is rare for the starter to fail, I hope I am the rare case  ;), than will have sorted it,  the exact symtems are.

1 early mornin, I know it will start first time.

2 do at least a 12 mile rounds trip, engine now at working temp, pull into drive, or where ever, stop for 1/2 to 1 hour, return to car

3 turn switch, NOTHING. try several times, NOTHING, not even slow cranking

4 next morning go to where ever car may be, turn key, starts first time ( have also tried to start before morning, NOTHING.

Will complete the job of pulling my hair out, wife thinks I may look good with a bald head.  :(

Hi Paul
will try that, have looked for starter mother but can't see it, tried looking down though the engine, and underneath, will borrow my son-in-laws ramps and look again. it seems to be well hidden, now the bloody handle for the bonnet release has come adrift.

thanks again. :y

if its just clicking & not even trying to turn, check the power to the starter motor...

failing that, try a another starter motor!

Omega General Help / Still refusing to start after a 10/12 mile run
« on: 21 October 2006, 09:55:32 »
Hi

2.0 Ltr GLS Auto R Reg, Starts fine in the morning,  10 to 12 mile round trip, then nothing on arriveing back home, turn the key just a click,   no dimming of head lights, dash lights stay bright, new battery fitted, I tried the old screw driver to the ear trick, on a part where there are four small bore pipes coming out, because when my son in-law turned the key the click seemed to come from this part, it is just below the battery, I know I am clutching at strews but help needed urgent, please, have not done anything to car only fitted battery supplied by vauxhall dealer.
