RAC come out and diagnose a top end problem, with the cams most likely, tow me to a garage who estimate £2k without even looking at the engine for new belt and gubbins, new gaskets, skimmed heads and new cams all round, i tell them dont bother i'll have the RAC flatbed it home next week at the end of my holiday, in the meantime i've bought a cheap as chips '96 1.2 corsa that's as slow as a one legged dog on tranquilizers. but anyway, when i get home i'm gonna investigate properly and fix it myself if possible.
