Well done on the head gasket replacement. I had mine done recently at the garage and it ocassionally wont start. Did you get yours started eventually. I suspect a badly connected sensor or air pipe will stop thi scar from firing up, so your 'cut' senor leads will almost certainly stop it from starting. Let me know if you sorted it.

Omega General Help / V6 wont fire up.

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me. Had a new cam belt fitted to my V reg, 2000, v6 3.0 elite 400miles ago. The car developed a missfire, and I was told it was the head gasket (£2000+ to fix! ouch!) So I opted for a bottle of Steal Seal - seemed to have worked a treat. Missfire gone. However (& maybe coincidentally) the car will not start. It turns over, but will not fire. However it did start, and ran fine, one time out of 20 tries. Prior to my cambelt change, this car was flawless.

My wheels do NOT spin freely. You can hear the pads dragging on the discs (both front wheels). I can maybe get the wheel to spin one rotation if I spin hard enough!
If my caplipers are sticking (& I suspect them more than the sliders) can I dismantle them and clean them? Will I need a new set of rubber selas? Or should I just buy some new ones?

Newly fitted front discs are running hot!
I have a 1999 v6 Elite and have just changed the pads and discs. To what extent should the new pads drag against the new discs I have just fitted? The sliders were moving smoothly, the calipers returned to their 'in' position without too much trouble. The discs are hot to the touch (no braking applied - just driving). Should I dismantle and clean th ecaliper internals?

Just joined the forum, just logged in & strangely I have just completed the same brake job on my omega this afternoon. All went well, having eventually got the calipers squeezed in, however the new pads are now dragging against the discs, which are getting warm/hot after some miles. Is this normal? Or should the brake pads retract from the discs so they run totally free?
