Omega General Help / Rear window washer hose routing (estate)

There's a length of small diameter hose that crosses the engine bay near the scuttle that I assume is for the rear window washer (it originates near the front washer hose, and seems to head off in the direction of the back of the car). Currently it's just flapping in the breeze, although it has some metal clips on it. How should it be routed, and where do those clips attach? If anyone has pictures that would be ideal :)

I removed and opened the breather box, and retrieved my errant drill bit  :) It was really lodged in there, there's no way it would have made it into the crankcase, but I'm still glad I got it back for my own piece of mind (and because it was my only 1mm drill bit)

My Omega isn't that bad really, seems the blocked breathers & leaking cam cover gaskets is to be expected. I've actually had pretty good luck with sight unseen purchases. As well as the Omega I bought my MR2 and my CB500 without seeing them, both are great.

I think with hindsight I should have used a long piece of wire to clear the smaller hole in the breather box. I was following the guide that said to use a 1.6mm drill bit, but really it's such a small hole the flutes weren't able to bring the sludge up anyway. And I've never seen a ~1mm drill bit that would also be long enough to avoid the risk of it falling in

My lesson should probably be don't buy cars sight unseen from hundreds of miles away, but it's one I doubt I'll learn  ;D

Waste of money.

Quite possibly, but the best price I could find for a pair of new bosch ones was £150, so I’m willing to take that chance. The ones I bought look great in the pictures at least, no signs of cracking or corrosion (unlike the ones I pulled from my car)

Is the grey goo anything specific? I’ve got some of the standard black RTV that I used to seal the sump on my MR2, will that work?

Yeah, definitely gonna remove the breather box and (hopefully) retrieve the drill bit. Even though I'm confident the drill bit can't get out on its own, it would always be in the back of my mind if I left it there. Plus it was a nice drill bit ;D

I've seen a breather box for sale on eBay for £25, so rather than trying to split and reseal mine I might just replace it instead

While following the guide for clearing blocked breathers on the V6, I managed to drop the 1mm drill bit I was using to clear the smaller hole into the breather box. From what I can see of the pictures of the breather boxes internals, the baffles should keep the bit in there, and not allow it into the crank case itself, but I really don’t like the idea of leaving it there.

Has anyone else managed to screw up in this way? Is it worth the effort of removing the breather box to retrieve the drill bit? Looks like it’ll be a pain in the ass to reseal it again

I’m after both coil packs for my 2001 2.6 V6, although I think the coil packs for the 3.2 were the same? I desperately need the 2-4-6 coil pack, I can probably get away with reusing my 1-3-5 pack if no one has one of those available

Yeah, it's same deal with the 2 tonne ones (1 tonne each) but then nothing I'm working on is near that weight limit, and I like to go overboard with extra stands, the jack and the wheels under the car just to be safe  ;D

Might be a mistake, as all the others are the usual 10-20% off, but either way they're honouring it, I just bought two pairs and they arrived yesterday  :)

At least you'll know the job will be done properly. :)

We fitted ours ourselves, and while it's all done to a high standard and looks great, it's been a year and it's still not fully finished. We made the mistake of moving everything back in once it was usable, and now it's hard to find time to finish the last few bits. At least when you get someone else to do it they'll get it done before you can start using your kitchen again ;D

I’ve decided to just go ahead and change to a spin on. I’d be happy to keep the paper filter if the lid wasn’t already stuck on. Any one need a paper filter? I’ve now got one that I won’t be using  ;D

I'm trying to do a simple oil and filter change, and I've come up against the dreaded stuck cap on the oil filter housing, and I didn't realise initially that the entire housing was turning.

I've searched the forum and read through countless threads about this, with a couple asking if spinning the housing will damage it, but I couldn't see a definite answer.

I've got a chain type oil filter removal tool, so I'm gonna try to use that to hold the housing still and get the cap off. My plan is to then remove the housing and try to see if the housing/seal looks damaged, but it would be great to know in advance, so I can order the adapter for a spin on filter if needed
