Thanks Dave for info, I have fiddled about with the door, which has been broken for a few weeks to try and see if that was the cause of the problem, but with no luck. Shame realy, I enjoyed my CD's on a long run. I had wondered if the CD player was fused seperatly which may have stopped it's operation.

Omega General Help / Re: Missing Electrical Plug
« on: 19 July 2011, 15:51:14 »
Panic over - found the prodigal plug, it was from the rear ex sensor. It's strange that it didn't show up on my code reader but there we are. The hardest bit has been trying to transfer photo's, even with photobucket it seems so tricky - still haven't a clue - whats wrong with  copy and paste, so simple!!!

Thanks all anyway.

Thanks Andy B
Have just tried that but photobucket  seems to be a "open site" like Twitter/facebook and I'm not into that sort of stuff !!! surely there must be a simple way of converting JPEG etc files to the img files which seem to be needed on a wonderful and important site  like this??? The image ICON above and the help file is not overly helpful. Regards  Neddy

Omega General Help / Missing Electrical Plug
« on: 18 July 2011, 17:20:21 »
After an enjoyable Head Gasket Replacement!!! the engine ran better than it's done for some time, however I cant trace the plug for a 3 pin socket(wire colours are Black,Brown/Blk and Brown/white) which runs from the rear of the trunking down the o/side of the head. The lead is only short 3-4 inches but I can't find it's mate...The car/spanner light comes and goes but there are no fault codes showing on my reader which I thought would give me a clue. Any advice welcomed - Cheers

Omega General Help / Re: Head Gasket Gone??
« on: 18 June 2011, 21:15:29 »
Silly me I've got a comp tester and had forgotten all about that side of things - I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder!!! I've even remembered about keeping the throttle open. I have thought about having a go at the valves and stem seals whilst it is stripped down bearing in mind the mileage. Has anyone any one any other ideas??

Omega General Help / Head Gasket Gone??
« on: 18 June 2011, 16:32:19 »
After 152k miles I think the head gasket  has gone, no overheating but I've noticed a coolant loss, bubbles from both pipes into the expansion tank when the cap is off and pressure in top hose when it's on. Strangely the car starts on 3 cylinders then after 1-2 miles runs properly on 4 after the ignition is turned off then on again. There also seems to be a slight "fog" from the exhaust. Any other ideas please?

Sorry missed the bit about oily plug 'oles. All are dry, camshaft gaskets changed during last saga and there are no leaks. Cheers neddy

Thanks for the reply's, coil pack on 2.2 changed, no leads fitted, new plugs fitted and swapped them over just in case. to me it seems so strange that it is always no 3 pot which has the snag, all the plugs show the same colour, I've used NGK BKR6EK plugs for the last 8 years, all the compressions are close and consistent. Why after a long period or faultless running has the same snag re-occurred - it beats me.
All ideas welcomed - I'd hate to get rid of an old friend....

My 01 2.2 auto with LPG had a no 3 pot missfire over two years ago, replaced the Coil pack and plugs and cleared the snag. recently the same snag re-occurred Code 0303 on my code reader also a P1700 code, replaced plugs and coil pack (ebay brand new Bosch - £76.49 inc from Vauxcentre  super service - v pleased) Fitted bits today and snag remains. Oh dear me!!!
Have any of you any ideas please.

Omega General Help / Radiator Leak
« on: 29 March 2010, 08:57:36 »
My 02 2.2 with a/con automatic has a cracked top hose connector. The rad seems a bit tight under the pipes on the left, is it possible to remove the rad without disturbing them?
Any other advice welcome.
Cheers
