The wipers can be a git to get off , I had to borrow a tool free them off .

Yeeeehaaaaaa. 
I'me like a dog with two dicks . For the first time since owning this car I can now see it does do more than 85mph in top gear. On a private stretch of road 
I hit 130 admittedly not that I advocate this speed but all the same chuffed to f*%k.
Rerouted the easy option and taped up the wire with with sticky ally heat tape.
The option of a piece of string to pull through was never going to happen , after cutting both ends off the old sensor it still would'nt pull out anyway .

Cheers lads , came too a bit of a halt ( note to self must invest in some torque sockets) mates gonna pop some torque sockets around 2moz.

Hi all , I was just took a look at fitting said item in the maintanece section , I see it goes towards routing it a different way . Mt question is , is their enough cable to do it this way . I've got as far as stripping out the tray under the windscreen and finding where plugged into the block , not found the 3pin connector yet .
Stripping out so I get the right sensor as mine is one of the 1st face lift models .

Omega General Help / Its Like a new car
« on: 02 March 2007, 17:01:52 » Well sort of , I popped into my local vx dealer for rocker gaskets + o rings , oil filter, and a heater exchange valve another member advised to change ( can this cause loss off coolent).Asked the price on some plug leads £180
I declined on that offer .Enquired on the ICV bracket I oredered back in Oct but forgot about and bless the chap remembered . Still not in from Germany so assumes not available so I got a refund which helped the bill .
So whats this got to do with the title you ask . Well it sprung to mind on the door death rattle so I got two of those nylon washers . Result I know wo'nt wake the neighbours when I get home from nights

A while ago i posted on the hitting a brick wall at 3400rpm but only when engine is up to temp .
I have only changed the can sensor which came to no avail .
Next month its going to a mech mate to do the rocker gaskets oil n breather, ht leads .
Some one spoke about the multi ram valves with a piccy of their rpm cycle .
The front ram I can see opening just afore the brick wall but I can't see the rear one operate at the same time , is it supposed to or does it come at a diff rpm . Even if I pull on the link arm of the valve to open it the car will still not rev past the wall . Could this be a problem if so do I change the whole ram or is their a solenoid somewhere

Hi all . I have got to replace my rocker gaskets , I have seen top end sets on ebay but their appears to be a lot of gaskets I would'nt use in these sets .
Apart from the rocker gaskets what others would I need to replace with stripping off the plenum etc if I was to source individual gaskets rather than a set .
One more question when disconnecting the battery whats the secret to doing this without the alarm going off .

So I've read somewhere that you can a cam cover kit for approx £60. Whats in it other than 4 gaskets as I can see you can get the gaskets off fleabay for about £9 a side.
I am not to sloppy with spanners is it a difficult job as I've never worked on a V6 before .
I assume the other multiram is at the rear of the inlet manifold and would have to remove the manifold to check said ram which would appear to be half the gasket changing job .
Lasltly where abouts would I find the crank breather .
May be some time afore I can do the job to find that thing we are all short the bloody time , so if I was to go to an independant dealer what sort of remortgage do you think I ma facing .

Hi all
Dunno if I have found something that might be or assisting the brickwall.
I was giving the enginebay a bit of tlc today and noticed a light film of creamy deposit on one side of the oil filler kneck and a tiny bit on cap . Also in a few places same film was on the upper inside (obviously) of the expansion tank . I do use coolant no deposits on dipstick or brown deposits in the coolant.
I only average 25 mile a day in two 12.5 journeys.
Also took the plugleads off one side (nearside) and everyone had oil on them dunno on the offside yet . I very much presume this is cam cover seals .
What a muppet I've just noticed their are 2 multirams
oh well back to the bay then .

Ok I checked my ramvalve today . Hope this is understandable .
I took off the ramstack to check the valve or what appears to be a flat piece of metal and checked it could be turned fully open by hand , it could with no tight spots . The black plastiv thingy attatched to a spring which turns the valve can be pushed by hand fully to the stop . When it is cutting in and out at 3400 the spring is fully open to the stop,sio I assume the valves would be fully open .
I noticed with my ears today but this could be normal , the black thing thats goes across the top of the inlet manifold with the pipes in sounds like its sucking air for england .
Asked my mate if he had this problem afore I had it off him he said no . The cambelt was changed just before I got it so dunno if their has been an assembly problem .
:-/ what to do next methinks at minimal cost .

Thats what I am trying to avoid at all costs
