I've no idea if they have been changed, I've only had the car a short time and there isn't any receipts to say they have been done so i would presume they haven't, is it very bad...:-(

I'll have a look, can't tell where the noise is coming from, the top or the bottom but there is a black plastic cover on the front of the engine at the top and you can feel the knocking there, I was worried it might be the cams...

Omega General Help / knocking from front pulleys
« on: 26 December 2008, 20:14:15 »
Hi all, started my 2.5 v6 up tonight and a loud banging/knocking was coming from the pulley area on the front of the engine (i think), it increases with the revs, there are no lights on the dash and nothing on the computer, the car drives normally and everything works as it should, just wondered if anyone has any idea what it could be...

That sounds promising, there isn't a check light on, no warning lights on at all, if the auto box is in limp mode, does it have to be reset by vauxhall or will the fluid do the job..

I'm not getting any fault come up on the screen and no fault lights are on, Ive read up on the snow mode and it says it turns off at about 50 mph then you have to press it again to turn it back on but i don't know if it is stuck on,is there any way of finding out if its stuck on..?

Omega General Help / slow acceleration
« on: 05 October 2008, 16:17:18 »
Hi, I've just bought a 2000,2.5 cdx estate, facelift, after cleaning the egr valve, the icv and replacing the afm, the acceleration is still really poor, replacing the afm has cured the erratic idle and gear changing and the overall power has improved but it crawls from a standstill until about 30 mph then it seems to be ok, If any one has any ideas they will be greatly received as i am now at a loss at what to try next,,
many thanks in advance..

Tim

Newbie Welcome Area / Hi, a newbie from brum.

Hi,
I've just entered the world of the omega with a 2000 2.5 cdx facelift estate, in the first week of buying my beloved beast i had a new battery, exhaust, front tyre and air flow meter and more problems still popping up but i love the car and will, by hook or by crook rectify every little niggle until it is running at full throttle once again, My name is Tim and I'm from B'ham and look forward to sharing my omega-isms with other like minded folk,
tara for now....
