I've got a VIBE 600w 2 channel amp (this is when bridged). All  I want to do is connect RCAs to the back of the head unit and I can do the rest, I MISS ME BASS!  Obviously I will HPF the door speakers and in the two fronts there are 2 tweeters anyway.

Any ideas how I can RCA the outputs on the back of the head unit?

Dude, how did you solder and what, cos that sounds like a plan!

If anyone knows of a conversion kit, I would much appreciate a website address.

Cheers,
THE Padster

Hi, Does anyone know how i can put my amp/sub in the boot, but keep the standard head unit? I would assume that the standard head doesn't have RCA OUTS on it? I have heard of a conversion which is a bit on the hefty side for cash, Cheers, Pad.

I've got the same noise, so do i jack the wheel off the floor and give it a tug on opposite sides like you do to test wheel bearings on m/cycles? I've looked at the wishbone rubbers and they look like they're peeling (similar to that of an onion) so could that be the problem?

DTM, i dont suppose you have the part number from maplins do you? Think mines gone too. And what needs removing to get to it etc. I've diagnosed it being the fan that at fault as per my qeustion on http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1198176711/0 but have no ide how to get all that fascia off without cracking it to pieces, where the fan is etc.

If the fan you bought was 25mm x 10, it must be a fairly big housing as the hole is only 3mm sq. Can i get to it via one of the center vents?

Cheers, Paddy. (now i have the AC re-gasd, it'd be nice to be able to use the climate control to its full extent)

Cheers guys, well i mite take it apart anyway, but i tried it out last night, temp was reading -1.0, i set it to auto and the dial to 23c. The fan symbol showed four bars, but it didnt blow hard until about 5 mins later and heat came out. Then when the cabin warmed up, the fans slowly toned down to a trickle even though the bars stayed at four. And the AC was on because i could hear the maine fan running and the compressor was switching in and off because if you pay close attention to bright dials, they flick when the AC comes on.....

So that may put a damper on the myth that AC does not work below 4c or 3c.

I mite get my can of compressed air for cleaning out keyboards and see if it mite loosen up the fan

Omega General Help / Climate Control

Hi all, whilst browsing the many thousands of threads on here, i came across one regarding the AC.

Apparently on the dash there is a little hole with lines on it, that sucks in air to measure cabin temp, and this can be tested by holding a piece of tissue over it. Well my piece of tissue fell down (even tried a lighter in front of it and the flame didnt budge), suggesting that it is not working... Should it have that much draw on it, or is it just a sensor that will "feel" the air in the cabin...?

Will it affect the climate control?

I own a 2.2 CD Y reg 2001 facelift 4dr Saloon.

PS, got the AC re-gassed at kwik fit today (yes for my sins i went to them), it only cost £25 and its Polar Bear cold again!  ::)

Oh and if anyone knows where i can find my aerial booster box, i would be obliged. Crackly FM.com is taking its toll on me! I cant seem to find it under the parcel shelf. Either i aint got one, or its in disguise...

Ta, Paddy

I just had mine MOT'd and have fitted aftermarket HID's...... They are of 6000K so quite distinctively blue but still passed. In hindsight 4500K (Whiter and Brighter) would be a better option, so will do so when i come to replace them. FYI

Thanks guys, i will try the grease on the end trick and see that it lands where it should - on the flat part. Like i say its strange cos i've not lifted the bonnet for a few weeks, and its just happened. :-/

Hi peeps. I have checked the FAQ re this to no avail. I'm meant to be up in 4 hours and have just gone out to my car for the second time to reset the alarm.

Tonight is the first time i have had this. I reset it once and thought that my empty oil container had fallen over and set it off from inside, so i removed it and anything else loose.

Its gone off again; Horn, The higher pitched squeling thing, and the indicators... so i run out - nothing there just a few curtains twitching looking at me in my dressing gown.

So i have now hit the switch on the dash with the bloke running away picture, and touch wood, its been twenty mins now and peace....

Any ideas what the fault might be? Not washed it, not fiddled with any switches etc... Have done nothing different.

Cheers, a tired Pad

Omega General Help / Front Pads Wear Sensor
« on: 03 April 2007, 17:14:54 »
Hi all, i attempted to change front pads today, but i noticed a cable running into the top of the inner pad (i assume it was the wear sensor) and couldnt get it out of the hole. After much brute force, i abandoned ship as i couldnt get the little rascal out.

Do i need to buy two new ones and connnect them to the "plug" which clips to the inside of the wheel arch? (I followed the lead and saw a black tubular connector half way up the arch)

If i do need to buy them, any ideas how much they'll set me back?
