Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Projector casing replacement on Elite

To get back to the original question I think you'd have to replace the whole headlamp unit as the back part of the casing is different to accomodate the HID bulb housing and the attachment of the ballast packs.
To be honest I would stick with the halogens and put in some decent bulbs (the Osram 65w special service ones are excellent if not 100% road legal but used by many motorcyclists and pass an MOT no problem) as although the HID ones are better I think they are rather overated given their broken adjuster and chrome peeling problems which you will very likely encounter with second hand units. Before anyone points out that I must have cloudy old lenses on my HID's to not think of them as gods wonderful gift to Omega's I have a brand new pair of HID headlamps fitted 2 weeks ago. I just don't honestly think that the improvement is worth the cost and hastle.
Unless you really must have HID lamps and have a big fat wallet I would stick with you Halogens, save your money and fit some decent bulbs as below
