Even if using incompatable displays, the CODE information should still be displayed when you first fit it and enter the number.

If you did not see the CODE entry screen, something else is wrong.

Faulty Radio, faulty Display or Mullered wiring.

the MID is the standard 4 line display and will display outside temp date and time, or Inst Cons, consumption, Trip Cons, etc all these work fine when the radio is not switched on. when you switch on the radio the third line of the display that tells you what station you are on or when you put the radio in that should display the asking for a code is missing, this part of the display was taken out when I put the first raplacment radio in, which has been tested on an external power supply and does not even light up when pressing the on/off button. the second radio was inserted and the procedure for entering the code was followed even though I could not see the MID asking for the code. and as I said before all the functions of the Radio/tape/CD are working but no display ::)

Recently bought new omega 2.5 V6 CDX with CCR 2006 that was faulty, bought replacment from ebay but when conected it it did not work but it also took out the radio display on the screen. bought another unit and this fine, but the display still not working, when the radio is not on, that line of pixels is ok, displays time and date. is this controled with a fuse or has the display been damaged? :-[
