Thanks guys, got it sorted now!
It was the arm on the n/s/f wishbone that had popped out......have put a very posh temporary repair on it because it popped again when i drove it....
a lovely gloss black cable tie holds it in place nicely now!! lol. ::)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Bl**dy Washer pumps!!
« on: 08 March 2010, 10:46:56 »
Cant hear the pump from inside the car, will try again at lunchtime to see if its running!
The washers work fine if you fill it to the brim but next morning they dont work again!!
Might be the wiring as i have tried 2 different sensors in there now with the same result!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Bl**dy Washer pumps!!
« on: 08 March 2010, 10:15:33 »
Hi again, now have another message on the lcd readout that says washer fluid level is low!
Have changed the washer bottle with the old one from my elite cos the original one had a leak, swapped all the motors and sensors too as i had this message come up already!
Still says low fluid but the bottle is 3/4 full and the washers dont work!!
Anyone had this before??

Omega General Help / Gearshift wobble?????
« on: 21 March 2010, 21:44:15 »
Dont know if anyone has had this before but my mv6 has a wobble at between 40mph and 70mph that makes the auto shifter shake! you can feel it a bit through the car itself but you can physically see the shifter shaking! Its not the front discs cos you cant feel it through the pedal and its worse when you accelerate but seems to die off if you brake!
Was thinking maybe a gearbox mount or donut on the propshaft........any ideas?? :-/

Hello mate, does the knocking increase with engine speed, an does it it ease when the engine is warmed up??

Yes mate it does increase with engine speed and gets quieter when warm....at some points the knocking goes completely when the engine is hot!

Omega General Help / Knocking at low revs, Big ends or autobox?
« on: 15 March 2009, 21:45:00 »
Hello people, have recently purchased a 1995 3.0 elite and it has developed a knocking at low revs mainly when cold!
From listening beside the car it sounds like a bottom end fault but have also heard that it could be a gearbox problem?? Any advice would be much appreciated on any common faults on the bottom end or the autobox.
Thanks.

Newbie Welcome Area / Newbie just baught 1st Omega!
« on: 15 March 2009, 22:26:31 »
Good evening people of the night. Just wanted to say a quick hello as i've just joined tonight after buying my first omega.
It's a 1995 elite 3.0 and have baught it cos of my love of vauxhall's.
I also own a mk2 astra cabriolet with a red top lump i fitted but after spending 19 months building it up i only had it on the road 4 weeks and a lovely female bmw driver decided she would use th back of it to slow down her car.....so now its written off and become my project car in the garage!!
Always loved the omega v6 so saw one at agood price and baught it with the insurance money....got a few faults like a whiney diff and an engine/gearbox knock but nothing i cant fix myself!!
Nice to see there's other people that love these cars too!!

Did you have to modify the new side mouldings in any way?
All i did with the mouldings was to remove the fixing clips from the back then bond them to the door! Might be cheating.......but it works for me!! lol ;)

Like the wheels dude! I thought about them for mine as it goes.

P/F do look so much better with colour coded strips (Mine too!)
If you ever get round to it change the wing mirrors to F/L too - they are so much better!

What is the insert for the grill - home made or adapted from somthing else?

Lovely car, lovely car! : :) :y :) :y

Matthew
Thanks for that mate, i'm well happy with her now!!
Grille insert is one i made from a 54 plate corsa lower bumper grille and then attacked it with an air saw!!
Still looks a bit rough round the edges close up but it only took me half hour to make so i cant grumble!
