no hot air on either side mark, it was flushed out back in april and i wasnt using the heater then, i got the car in feb so im not sure the heating has ever worked since ive owned it :( if i was only getting hot water through the matrix inlet and the outlet was cold it would point to blocked matrix but to be getting both pipes hot and still no heat at the vents is a bit baffleing!

I don't think it's air locked as I wouldnt be getting hot water in and out of the matrix or am I wrong

eco switch on or of makes no difference at all mate and as far as rad weld is concerned i havnt used it but cant say it hasnt been used before, the vac pipes are working fine as far as i can see, vac on when set to cold no vac when set for heat as i said the two alloy pipes to and from the matrix are both hot so im at a complete loss as to why i have no heat :(

hey all
im having a few probs with the heating in the old elite, im not getting hot air from the vents in the car even tho both the alloy pipes off the matrix are hot, ive tried the reset (off and auto buttons pressed same time) and the little vent is still sucking the air in. now for the strange bit, if i take the vac pipe off the hbv valve and then replace it straight away the air in the cabin does get slightly warmer! i wouldnt have thought the hbv was at fault as both of the matrix pipes are hot, any ideas anyone?

or possibly the fuse that controls the stages, this happened on my car (3.0 litre v6), the fan on the left hand side of the two in front of the air con condenser was the only one to ever come on at all and that wasnt until 97.5 degrees (on gauge). i posted on here and was told to check the fuses next to the battery, upon inspection there was a broken fuse which i replaced and now all is well so it would be worth having a look at those fuses  ;) ;) ;)

Omega General Help / poor heater fan speed
« on: 21 July 2009, 21:40:56 »
hi all
i have had a look for this on here but no results so here goes, the speed of the air coming from the vents in the car doesnt seem to be all that spectacular, wether it is set on lo or hi it just seems gutless. i have changed the pollen filter but this has made no difference. the car has full climate by the way and a freind of mine has a cdx model with the same  setup and when he sets to lo or hi its like a bloody hair dryer! any ideas would be much appreciated as this time of year its taking about 2 hours to cool the cabin down to a bearable temp.
thanks

0-60 2.5 v6 manual in a lighter car id say would edge my mig 3.0v6 auto elite(estate), but after that, with the old sports mode on, im confident of an omega victory!!!

hi again
looked at bigdodds reply and the link posted, shot outside to the old girl and what do you know the fuse he pionted out had gone. changed the fuse took her out for a good run and the temp now stays around the half way mark (95-97). the fans then stayed on for a short time after i had stopped so all in all im over the moon that this has cost me 40p to sort out. bigdoods and theboy, you are legends, this forum is the best thing ive ever seen on tinternet and anyone who has a mig should come here long before booking their car in anywhere! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
many thanks

well there is definatly only one of my fans coming on, before the warmer weather started the temp never went above 98 but that was without the a/c on and cooler outside air temp. now it seems that with only one fan its struggling to cope with the heat.
