Thanks for all your advice..  :y
I'll change the cam cover gaskets, as there is alot of oil down the right side of the engine, and let you know how I got on. :)

Many thanks

Omega General Help / Oil and Mayo....!!!

Hi all,

I've just bought a T reg. 2.5 CDX,  very impressed with it, but it looks like it's blowing oil out from the right hand side as you look at the engine (possibly rocker box gasket), plus the head gasket might have gone as there is white sediment (mayo) on the oil filler cap.. would I be right in thinking so...???

Quote from RobG - "Mayo" on filler normal on V6 due to short trips, needs a few blasts and then get the oil changed every 4-5K

Has anyone else had this type of 'oil flow'..

all tips welcome...  :) :) :) :y

Hello again,

Thanks for making me feel welcome..

I feel like I have some 'mates' to help me on this one and not going it alone...

There is oil pouring out the  R side of the engine, would you say this is just a rocker cover gasket leak..?

Hi all,

Firstly what a great site...

I've just bought another omega, had one a few years ago, now bought a T reg. 2.5 CDX,  very impressed with it, but it is blowing oil out from the right hand side as you look at the engine (possibly rocker box gasket), plus the head gasket has gone as there is white sediment on the oil filler cap.. would I be right in thinking so...???

Just a quickie (I'll also put this in the workshop (General help) section) ...

Is it a big job for the DIY mechanic or should I leave it to the experts..?? I'm not scared of getting oil up.. not got a manual yet, but will soon..

Thanks, and all tips welcome... lol
