Omega General Help / EM Code Reader - Which one to buy?
« on: 03 February 2013, 15:32:58 »
Hi

Does anyone have an opinion on which enging management code reader I should buy please?

I have a 2002(52) Omega 2.2 petrol saloon

I have seen a number of them on Amazon with prices from about £25 upwards.

Unfortunately, none of them provide a list of compatible cars in their advert so I am not sure which one will meet my needs.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Omega General Help / Engine Management Light - New Cat
« on: 03 December 2012, 11:20:18 »
Hi, in June of this year I had to replace front exhaust section (including CAT) on my Omega 2.2 petrol 2002.

Had a quote from Vauxhall for £1090 + fitting so went to local fastfit.

Fast fit guys told me that they have stopped supplying these for Omega and Vectra 2.2 cos they make the engine management light come on.

I located a wholesale supplier locally and paid £190 (plus £45 for fast fit guys to install)

2 months later, the EM light came on. After changing the cam belt etc the local garage did a 4 gas report which showed a CAT problem.
The supplier changed the pipe and cat etc with no hassle and assured me thay had not had any other problems 'ever'  so I
Had new section re-installed

2 Month latere, EM light is on again.

Any advice would be gratefully received?

Thanks for the responses

I ran short of oil on a very long trip and it's clattering away like a can of marbles now :'(

I have a back condition so will need to get it into a garage for the work and I'd hate to get ripped off.

Hi
The rear door on my 2002 Omega is locked and I cannot open it using the central locking or the lock button on the door. I undertsnad that I probably need to replace the motor but I need to get the door open before I can access the motor etc

Any ideas on how to open the door would be very gratefully received.

Thanks Andy :(

Omega General Help / Re: Water dripping onto spark plugs
« on: 09 May 2009, 17:56:36 »
Hi Guys

Thanks for the usefyul feedback

Having done further investigation and water pouring, I can see it is coming from the central area of the grill between the windscreen and the bonnet.

I think it is designed to run from here to the passenger side via the well for the pollen filter?

The grill is only about 2 inches wide here and water poured in goes onto the black sponge below and then drips directly onto the enging and plugs.

I can't get the grill off to see where the water is running through

Does anyopne know how I can take off this piece of black plastic grill? :'(

Omega General Help / Water dripping onto spark plugs
« on: 08 May 2009, 14:23:41 »
Hi

I have a 2002 Omega 2.2 and I'm suffering from water dripping onto the top of the engine and running into the spark plug wells causing severe misfires.

The water appears to come from the left hand (passenger) side of the windscreen through a black grill between the bonnet and windscreen

I think there must be a blocked drain hole somewhere but I can't see it

The drain hole on the drivers side is clear

Does anyone have an idea on how to address this please?

Regards,

Andy
