Omega General Help / Mystery Sound
« on: 25 March 2014, 12:18:59 »
I have a 2.2 diesel facelift with 95k miles.
Drove it today and there's a loud whirling sound coming from the driver's side as I get between 2500-3000 revs. Does it in each gear.
This problem has appeared suddenly.
Any suggestions?

I've wiggled the RGB connector into the CID and done the same into the back of the HU; no joy. Completely checked the RGB cable for poor connections but cannot find any. TB, I may be calling on your services; could do with a Tech2 session anyway to set up the trip computer configuration with this tractor. Would be great if you could help  ;)

Thanks Mark

It is fully plugged in; what confuses me is that everything else on the display works!  Any idea which pin would directly affect this?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CID Map Display
« on: 05 February 2014, 15:55:19 »
I have finally retro installed a new CID with NCDC2015; the sat nav, radio, full colour display, etc all work.
Sadly, the map function does not work.  When selected, all I get is a black screen with interference; it's not getting any signal.
Could this be a problem with the HU?
Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks

The CID needs pairing with the head unit (with the same car pass).
The black screen menu just needs the setting adjusted with the Tech2

I'm selling my CID on a popular auction website but it's not going too well. How much do people think they're worth?

From memory, stealers want about £1,100 for a new one, that's if they still sell them.

Best bet is to search ebay.de for 'ncdc.'

I managed to pay £170 all in but it's a bit of a risk since they dont usually accept paypal so it's bank transfer only with no guarantees.

Use google language translator to see if it's been depaired.

They are most common on there for 'buy it now price' of 299 euros!!

Tried removing the NCDC2013 unit using the pins supplied from Halfrauds.

Unfortunately, even with the pins pushed in, the unit would not budge. Anyone got any ideas?

When you select 'Main' do you get a menu with time, date, radio station, etc....?

The colour screen can be configured for a black background with red characters.  It can also be set for a grey background with a variety of colours (factory set).  If you've got red characters on black background, I don't think you've got a problem with wiring.

In order to get a map on display, using the right dial, select settings and work through until you get the map and scale options.
Does that Mondeo you drive have a nice colour display? :P

TB, you can be sooooo harsh!!!

I enjoy driving without being able to see the fuel indicator needle actually drop as it guzzles the unleaded..  That is about the only positive about being Omegaless   :-/

Might have to leave this forum, it's too painful (is there a smiley in green that can depict my envious nature)?

Have you considered sourcing a second hand 2013 from ebay.de

You'd be paying about £200-300.
